N63 Injector Compatibility - Using LCI Injectors in Pre-LCI Vehicle

I've done a fair bit of research and found a lot of conflicting information on this.

I'm trying to understand if my Pre-LCI N63 with the 13538616079 injectors will accept the updated 13647599876 shape. I have seen these new ones listed as a higher-flow upgrade, but the compatibility is very unclear. I don't recall the Pre- and Post- face-lift engines being much different (they're all some of the hardest to maintain), but I want to know for sure before dropping $400 on some refinished ones.

If they are compatible, are they worth upgrading for reliability? Will anything special be needed? If not, what are my options?

Nope.

Wish it were so, but they are actuated entirely differently.

I looked into this as well.
