Here's my guess based on the 2013 BMW brochure for my 2013 X3. Same sound system or quite similar because here's how it's described:

Premium high-fidelity system is a 16- speaker, muti-channel system that outputs reproduction of the surround information contained in the stereo signal in a nine-channel format (seven mid and high range channels and two central bass channels) as well as a 5.1 surround sound from a DVD source. Includes a 600 watt amplifier with nine channels. The system compensates for driving noise in smooth steps and speed-dependent equalizing. All 16 speakers are fitted with very strong, yet compact neodymium drives.

The B&O sound system isn't available for the X3, so they're promoting the Premium Sound System (H-K) as an upgrade. Since the B&O sound system is available on the 5 Series BMW doesn't even bother mentioning the middle option for sound in the 2013 brochure: H-K.

SonicEndeavor confirms this. It's from the 2014 online brochure:
