Stereo recommendation
I believe i have the standard stereo that comes with a 2011 5 series M Sport and wondering what upgrade options i have (anyone recommend anyone in Newcastle)?
Dont want to spend too much but enough to get a decent sound as the system in my 3 series Business Edition seemed to be a lot better. Thanks |

I am going to meet an installer today to look at options to upgrade my standard system (which is awful)
I am hoping on replacing the 6 stock speakers, adding tweeters to the door mirror backs, and a half decent 4 chan amplifier to take the high level speaker outputs from the back of the radio and boost them.

OK - here is what was suggested as an upgrade.
Subs under seats: Either Earthquake SWS-8's or Ground Zero GZMW 200NEO's Front Doors: Focal Point Components 100KRS Rear Shelf: Alpine Co-axial SPR-50 13cm Amplifier: Alpine MRX-V60 5 channel. All speakers will fit in original locations with minimal to no modification and I will need to get 2 mirror backs from dealer that have grills - for tweeters. The alpine will be mounted in the boot under the parcel shelf and take the 4x25w speaker inputs from the head unit. (not ideal but should be ok) The 4 channels will be driven at 50W each rms and the 5th channel will drive the subs at 100W each rms. I am hoping it should be as good if not better than my Logic7 that I had in the E92.

Hi there
I am in the hunt for a 535d as well and will be looking to upgrade the stereo. Are you guys planning to upgrade the cables that go to the speakers. Often BMW use completely crap cables but this increases the labour cost of the upgrade substantially. Or is the cabling in the F10 quite good? Dave |
