N63 Downpipes Installation Help

Anyone install aftermarket dp's on their 550i? I'm thinking about tackling this, just could use some pointers on getting it done.

Very easy, don't sweat it. Took me 3 hours without a lift.

What did you use to unscrew the bolts at the flange? Isn't there a hex nut on the opposite side that just free spins with the bolt as you attempt to loosen it?

Are you talking about the downpipe to the rest of the exhaust connection? They were pressed in studs attached to the stock pipes. I welded bolts to the catless pipes to create studs. I'm still not sure why this isn't done by all the aftermarket downpipe manufacturers..

I have not yet. I am due for emissions next month though. The plan is to try and get my 335 dp fix to work but only for the purpose of getting a sticker. To be honest, it doesn't bother me one bit other than not being able to see it turn on for another issue.

When you clear the CEL does it immediately come back on after startup? Or does it take a while?

It takes a while. It sometimes randomly turns off too but I usually punch it and it comes back on.
