Dinan tune for 550i
Hello,
Is it safe to install the stage 2 Dinan tune before you are done with the break in period? I only have a 150 miles on my car. Unfortunately havent had a chance to drive much due to bad health so wanted to know if it's safe to install the tune now or wait till the break in period? Thanks in advance for your feedback. |

Hmm..don't know. That is an interesting question. What would the harm be? Maybe extra stress on your engine components, seals, rods, etc since they haven't had a chance to expand and get worn in/broken in properly over the breakin period. Me I am waiting even though the 15% sale they have ending on 31 Oct makes that painful!

It is, I don't remember if it was my dealership or Dinan themselves, but they said they've put the software's on cars that just came in from Germany, so with like 12 miles on them. Just continue to break it in after getting it on there and it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the feedback. Got word back from Dinan as well indicating safe to install the tune and continue to proceed with the normal break in period. Now I just hope to feel s little better to take the car in to get it done.
