Sorry not a fan of the rear, but love everything else, the rear reminds me of the pontiac aztec, the tail lights need more character to them, they are very plain and the rear end simply looks chopped off at the end. They should have given it more of a panamera rear end in that the back slopes to the rear bumper more (a la 911) instead of just chopping off the rear end (a la toyota prius and honda insight)

However, this sort of rear end is supposed to be very aerodynamic, so there are some pluses to it

Those seats are so damn flat, obviously made specifically for the American market... What are thin people supposed to do?

This is not a BMW, its just a vehicle that someone thought up so they could hopefully take in more revenue.

Now that the PAS/GT is now revealed BMW can take the body cladding off the test cars whch are undergoing their final testing phase.

Here is one in what looks to be space gray with some more production ready wheels then what the concept is wearing, so we can get a better idea of what the real car sold at dealerships would look like. I like it ALOT better in the space gray color!!

my love for the e46 is the same as yours. its unfortunate that BMW has
decided to venture off into a completely different styling direction. maybe i still
have hope of finding a 330i zhp.

You guys are talking classic BMW beauty and you don't even mention the E39?

The E39 is by far the best looking BMW to date very close with the new Z4. Yet, the E39 is timeless, time will only tell if the new Z4 ages as gracefully

The E39 is a beautiful car as well. Many E34 lovers (I am one of them) might disagree. Usually with every generation BMW creates a controversial new design style. My favorite design is a tie with the E46 M3 and E39 M5. (The E36 began the design language I love, and the E46 perfected it)

From the E46 to the E39, as soon as the cars were released I loved the designs whereas with the E65, E60 etc onwards, I had to study the cars for months before I saw the beauty. I now find the E60 and E92 (especially the M5 and M3) gorgeous.

As for the E24 to E34 cars (and prior), these cars were before my love of BMWs existed, so when I see them now (I have an E34), they exude a classic old elegance that the new cars have lost. (A real hardcore German style appearance).

Anyways my question: Is this also known as the new X1, or are the PAS and X1 different?

All manufacturers have stopped with what you all call "classic" designs (which no doubt they are, but that's not keeping modern cars from being deemed classic).

There's a reason for this: If every manufacturer stuck to simple, straight lines and conservative shapes, EVERY car would look the same.

blah

I hated the e60 the first time I saw it. I'm having the same reaction to this contraption. Although this one is actually making me laugh a little. It's just so RIDICULOUS

Awful looking piece of car! They should just throw this design in the recycle bin! I can see a lot of "agressive" soccer moms driving it though...think they rule the roads!

Oh god no....please dont do this BMW!

I was just BARELY getting by with the X6, and now you bring in a confused whale?

As i see it, BMW is finally running their company like a business, for the sake of producing cars to make as much money as possible, and they're losing the prestige involved with their cars. Why the hell are they making 92917217932631972319723 different models?

This thing is an "upscale" version of the Toyota Venza. Both are for people who really want an SUV, but who know they'll be scorned if they pull up in one at soccer practice.

It's ironic that a car meant to enhance the driver's image (the 5 GT, not the Venza) will actually make him look like a complete f-ing tool.
