Hey guys. I'm pretty inexperienced in terms of modding. Looking to do a simple mod in making the 528i m sport looks like m5. (Wish I could afford one)...
Basically how would the process be like. I have located someone selling a new hamann rear bumper for 200 bucks. which would allow quad. Do I find a quad exhaust tip and replace current tip? What would be a good recommendation. Looking for a bigger size tip. Is cutting needed for the tip conversion? How easy is it to convert it back to oem in the future? Also looking to put a m front grill later Thanks all. |

yep! you could either just do the quad tips or actually replace your mufflers. depends on your budget. you will have to have the OEM tips cutoff so keep that in mind if you ever decide to return your car. also, the picture above look like quad 4" tips. common size tips for quad is 3.5". also color variation is something to think about. here's some quad burnt tips:
4" quads! if budget is not an issue here's a Meisterschaft with quad EVC's i believe these are Eismann's with quad tips another cheaper route is going with some Megan Supremo's or if you definitely just want to do the tips that would be the cheapest way to go

Another thing to consider is what type of diffuser you are going to go with. If you go with an M5 diffuser, or a diffuser made for an M5, tips like lsturbointeg posted will work (h style configuration). Meaning the tips are oriented so that one tip is directly inline with your muffler OEM muffler outlet, and the second is offset towards the centerline of the rear of the car. If you go with a diffuser made for a 550, your tips need to be in a "Y" configuration, whereas the tips are both offset from the centerline of your OEM muffler outlet. I don't have time to pull up pictures now, but hopefully you can picture what I am saying. If you look closely, the mufflers on an M5 sit slightly more centered than a 550, so that is what accounts for the difference in the placement of the openings on the diffusers. I also have a 535 with quad tips and opted to go with a diffuser made for the 550 (M Performance) because I was trying to avoid my car looking too much like an M5. It is bad enough I am running OEM M5 wheels.

One of the first thing I did when I bought my car was to install a cf diffuser with a quad tip setup. I got a nice deal on a m6 competition mufflers. These came very nice with my diffuser. This one is the r.w.carbon one
