Squeaky interior?

Anyone else have loose interior parts in their F10? Sounds like a mouse is constantly squeeking in my car (I'm exagerating) but each time I hit a bump I hear squeeks coming from the left side of my dash. Its been happening since I got the car but I was hoping I can fix it without having to waste time going to the dealership.

Not a squeak but I have a rattle coming from my rear right speaker housing when I go over bumps. If I tap on the speaker housing with my hand I can hear the rattle so I'm
hoping it's something the dealer can fix easily. Haven't gotten around to taking it in yet though.

If something is wrong with your car try to get it back to the dealer ASAP. Its to your advantage!

Only one squeak for me, the passenger seat squeaks evert time I hit a bump. If someone is in the seat no squeak, if I apply pressure to the seat back from the side while driving no squeak, so at least I know where it is coming from. I will have to take it to the dealer eventually to be fixed.

I don't see any advantage in letting the "techs" at your dealer take apart your interior to try to locate the rattle. Chances are that the rattle will not be fixed and you will acquire other issues in the process. My advice is to not let the "techs' try to fix a rattle - in my experience, most of them go away by themselves anyway.

I have the same passenger seat squeak/rattle when it is empty. I complained it to dealer, but they didn't hear any thing. On my next visit, I will complain again

1HOT BMR, I tend to agree with you, and I usually either fix it myself, or hope that it goes away, which sometimes they do. But this one is loud and driving me up the wall. I am giving it some time to see if it goes away before I break down in and take it to the dealer.

I had a rattle in my car that was driving me nutty. Coming from the dash or radio or maybe the console, thought I. Nah. Trunk. The lightbulb in my flashlight in the trunk was rattling, but it (the flashlight) was mounted to the parcel shelf and it resonated and echoed and reverberated so that you couldn't source it until I had my GF ride in the back seat while I drove around.

These cars are acoustic nightmares. I also have a nasty rattle that is actually just the passenger seatbelt buckle hitting the pillar sometimes, depending on how the last passenger let the belt retract. I just move the belt and it's fine.

Check for loose change. Seriously.

Yes, the passenger seatbelt hitting the B-pillar. Couldn't they have made the material on the B-pillar softer, or do something? This is an oversight. I have to make sure the seatbelt sits on the bolster of the seat otherwise it bangs against the B-pillar as I drive. I agree, these squeaks and rattles are often not even close to where they sound like they are. At least I've been able to isolate my squeaky passenger seat, should make it easier to fix.

james d, just to be clear, the seat belt banging the b-pillar is not my passenger squeak, I still have a squeak separate from the seatbelt, but I hope the seatbelt is your rattle!

I have great phobia of the squeaky and rattly gremlins which used to plagued by previous ride (E60).

Squeaky doors, rattling dash and front passenger seat all sound too familiar and I am getting the goose bumps hearing that it happened on your F10s - fortunately, it's not there in my F10 - not as yet and I hope, not forever!

I have a ticking noise coming from the seatbelt pulley behind my right ear. When driving (with my seat belt on) my movement in the seat causes the seat belt to move a millimeter or two every few seconds, this movement is hearlded with a clear and definite "tick" noise. It has been driving me crazy so I made an appointment and I took it to the dealer today ( I had to rearrange my work to allow this to happen). I collected the car a few hours ago and the ticking has become worse. When I say worse I mean it's frequency hasn't changed but it has got louder. I was, more or less, resigned to this when I collected it because they told me they adjusted the belt unit and added "double sided tape!" Can you believe that? BMW aftersales are becoming a real pain in the @$$.

I rest my case - see #7 above

I recommend you do not take it back to the "techs" and either fix it yourself with help from members here or learn to live with it. There was a guy who took his car in for a sunroof squeak and ended up having to install a whole new roof liner which sagged forever thereafter.

One possible fix is a girlfriend... But be careful... you may end up missing the squeaky rattle from the empty seat..

That's right... they can never fix the rattle. I will try target the rattle from time to time til I find the problem and fix it myself.

Yep I have the squeaky seat too, when it is empty, which is during my commute. Annoying but I don't think I want the techs taking it apart. Does anyone have wind noise on the rear passenger side, like a window is cracked open?
