Continental DWS as a summer tire?
I've been searching for a new set of 20" tires up and down locally (Toronto) with no luck!
Internet...same problem! Tire Rack is also back ordered on most high performance summer tires. I wanted Michelin Pilot Super Sport but they are completely unavailable with back order everywhere. The only thing I've managed to find in 245/35/20 - 285/30/20 is Continental DWS. I checked them out and they get great reviews everywhere but they're high performance "All Seasons". The thread pattern is really aggressive. I have a dedicated set of winter wheels so my goal is finding tires that will only be used in summer months. Is the DWS a good summer only tire or should I really keep on trying to locate a set of dedicated summer tires? |

wait for summer tires. Several threads on this tire on the F10, conclusion, not that sporty, don't handle all that well.

Only 275 for the rear. I could go for 275....but I was set on Michelin Pilot Super Sport in 285 and now I'd have to go to Continental in 275.... I guess I'll have to keep searching the net for something...I hadn't anticipated that it would be such a challenge to find tires. |

it's cause the size is a specialty size and staggered. It's not like they're gonna make tons of these tires.
Once possibility is to run Bridgstone S-04 on the rear and S001 on the front. They look like the same tire, so I'm not sure why they are named differently. See if you can find out more info. Good luck

I have DWSs. Not sure if I would get them again. Definitely no snow in Houston. They are fine in the rain, but a bit soft if you are looking for a true summer type tire. They do seem to be wearing well, but I still wish I had bucked up for some Michelins.

Just place the order at Tirerack for the PSS
I got the same exact size and although the front 245 35 20 tires shows it was on back order, they shipped out in two days. Just give them a call. General review of the DWS on the F10 is that the sidewalls are a bit too soft for the car. Its already floaty stock so this would compound the issue if you are into better handling. Alan

That sucks that the DW's are not available. I've had them for the last 6 months and feel like they are well matched to the F10. I would buy them again.
I looked for the PSS also, but the fronts were not available last fall. If you can't find PSS - maybe try the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT's? I'm not a big Dunlop fan, but those seem to be getting pretty good reviews.
