M5 Exhaust System OEM

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
USD 750.00

Item Interest
**SOLD** BMW M5 exhaust, complete. About 5K on the system since installed. Sold my 550i so exhaust is now up for sale. The pipes have been cleanly cut into sections (so I could fit them in my trunk). $750 cash or payal plus fee. I prefer local pick up (Los Angleles, Orange County).

You all probably know the install details for the M5 mufflers/system but I’ll share some insight from my experience for those that don’t:

If you intend to use just the mufflers onto your stock system just after the axle, you’ll need a custom bent “transition piece”. It’s an easy job for any good muffler shop (my last pic shows the piece I had on my 550i.) Or, if you’re using the full system (3” head pipes, X pipes, and M5 center resonator), the pieces will weld together easily but you’ll need change out the M5 flange at the head pipe with the one on your slightly smaller 550i head pipe flange (easy job for muffler shop). Regarding the diffuser. The M5 muffler will hang on the original 550i points without a problem and stock quad tips will level and center easily into a stock M Sport diffuser opening provided the muffler shop fabricates the transition pipe to accommodate it (again, easy job). If you’re planning on doing an OEM M5 diffuser, then the quad tips face inboard just a bit. You should install that diffuser first and then hang the muffler/system and have the muffler shop fabricate that transition piece so the tips line up for that diffuser. The vacuum flap valves are fully functional and you need only connect your existing vacuum hose to it (via a plastic nipple and short hose extension, which I’m including).

Not really a hard job...you just need a good muffler shop (I used Mike’s Muffler in El Monte).

This is an amazing deal for a full catback. Good luck with sale

That transition piece can easily be fabricated or you can purchase a two 45 degree mandrel bend for about $20 each

Here's the link to make the buyers life easier. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MBS-3-45-Deg...afe591&vxp=mtr

I've gotten used to the cold......it seems to be the norm for at lease another week or so.
