550i Replacement Radio Issue

I replaced a 550i radio with a factory one. I took it to the dealer to be "CODED" and after updating the software, the had no idea why it didn't work and suggested a new $3500 replacement. Obviously I'm not dropping that amount for a radio. Does anyone have suggestions or recognize this icon on the display? It looks muted somehow?

Contact these guys...

They should be able to help. If the dealer screwed up the coding, or if there's some incompatibility with the unit you're trying to get to work, they will be able to sort it out. Good luck!

Can you give more info on the reason for the original replacement. Was it a direct replacement or a retrofit to another radio? New? Used? Also pic isn't coming through.

I'll try the pic again.

In terms of the replacement, there was a short in the radio that was preventing it from working. The navigation screen would blink and I could not only not use the radio, I couldn't access any of the menus (Communication, Entertainment, Climate, Info, etc.).

The new radio allows me to use everything but there is now no audio in the car. The radio doesn't play, the door open, key, seatbelt chimes don't work either.

Sorry, I thought I posted in the correct spot.

The original radio had a short that couldn't be bypassed and as a result, the display screen would not turn on. You were unable to access any of the controls.

Yeah best to post here: https://e60.5post.com/forums/index.php

My knowledge is limited to NBT units, but to me sounds like it could be one of two issues: coding not done properly, or the fuse for the amp. I'd start with the latter. Worst case scenario the HU board is defective (supposedly common).

You can also reach out to Bavlogic in TX. They are phenomenal to work with.

P.s. what part of the Burgh you from? I grew up in South Hills.
