Beige interior and children. A wise choice???

Thinking of getting an F11 with the beige interior and beige carpets.

I have two children under 6 and occasionally the dog goes in the boot (as little as possible though!!!).

Am I mad to consider to the beige interior and trying to keep it clean or should I just go for oyster with black or Cinammon?

PS - exterior woud be Imperial Blue

The darker the better, and oyster is probably the worst choice with kids.

You put the dog in the boot? Does it not it go crazy barking?

LOL! Totally missed the F11 in your post.

Go dark, like black. My wife's last 2 cars have had black interior and light grey interiors. The black looked great after many years. Grey looked like crap after 1-2 years. Kids can screw any interior up even if you are careful. Go dark.

Oyster is fine for the seats with kids. But, you need black carpets.

If you like oyster, go with oyster/black. It is the perfect combo if you want a light interior that stays clean!

+1

I've got two littles kids but no problems whatsoever with this combo.

I have had Lemon in my 335i and have a teen daughter and 4 year old son, along with a Weimeraner dog. It was brilliant, as soon as you saw a mark you git it off.
Then had alpaca grey in my E320cdi estate, and again it stayed looking great for ages.

I choose black in my wifes X1 as I thought it would be more practical. Never again!! It shows up every single bit of dust and mark so easily, it is a nightmare to keep looking good.

Oyster is like the Lemon, I would go for that, but all oyster rather than black carpets.

This is crazy.

Sure, black carpets show dirt. But dirt that can be cleaned.

Tan carpets show stains...that CANNOT be cleaned.

Forget beige and forget everest gray. Go with Oyster/Black, Cinnamon or all black.

Oyster/black is very nice with a dark car. I have Oyster/black with fineline anthracite on imperial blue color. In my opinion that is a very good combination. Oyster/black has been a breeze to keep clean so far, even in the shitty norwegian (oslo) weather.

Oyster/black for me - I'm spending the money, I choose the combo I like and my 8-yr old daughter conforms to that (or else)

No food in the car, that's what service stations are for. Water for drinks is fine as that doesn't stain. Shuffle feet on the ground before getting in to get excess dirt/mud off shoes.

Still spotless inside

I agree, go for Oyster/black. My car is Sophisto Grey with Oyster/black Dakota leather interior and black inner roof. I have two children, 2 and 5, and have not had any problems yet. The color combo looks very nice with Imperial blue as well!

The only disadvantage with Oyster leather is that it gets easily stained by dark clothes, for example blue jeans. However it is no problem to clean...

Garage List
The carpets and lower door trim are the big problem with the beige interior. If I were to rank in order of ease of maintenance:
1) Black
2) Cinnamon/Black
3) Oyster/Black
4) Gray
5) Beige

Nappa is easier to clean than Dakota because Nappa is smooth.

I would suggest going for Cinnamon if you are worried about dirt. If you don't mind cleaning your leather once in a while with some leather cleaning spray an a microfiber cloth then do Oyster-Black Nappa.

Dark Blue with Black leather doesn't look good in my opinion. Dark Blue with a Cinnamon-Black interior will look great.

As you can see the Cinnamon has black carpets so it maintains a cleaner look. Also the leather is strong enough a color that it can hide surface dirt.

Don't agree, my X1 always looks grubby, it is only 20k miles old.

My E320cdi at 105k miles...

I used to clean it every 2-3000 miles.

My E70 has Cinnamon leather and black carpet. So far, cereals and juice haven't stained anything. Just vacuum and wipe down often. The dealerships in the U.S offers Teflon coating, which comes with a warranty (which I've opt out). If anything stains, they'll replace.

Oyster/black here with 3 year old and 8 month old. Absolutely fine - mud, chocolate, ribena etc etc, all wipes off and still looking gorgeous. Would not go for light carpets though..
