Throttle lag improvement with JB4?
Looking to get the JB4 since its an easy way to get a nice power boost on the 535i but does it also take care of the throttle lag that these cars have or do I also need to get the sprint booster? Also since it seems both plug in to the OBDII connector how would this work if I needed both?

its ECU tune > JB4 > throttle remaps like sprint booster. the tune would be much more effective with minimizing throttle lag then throttle remaps while bringing in real power gains. very nice F10 buddy. I got a 2011 RWD N52 equipped 528i also in titanium silver and I love it. good luck |

Car is still under warranty so I would want something I can remove if I ever ran into any issues. Once its out of warranty I would definitely go the Mission Performance route or something along those lines. My other option for now is a RaceChip since its a super quick install but if piggyback systems give problems Ill just keep it stock for now.

If you want to get rid of that throttle lag get the sprint booster. JB4 helps get rid of it some but still not as good as sprint booster. Get both and you'll feel even more of a difference. And to answer your last question, only JB4 connects via OBD2 port. Sprint booster connects to the back of your pedal. Sprint booster is very sleek so u could hide it easily and u have the option turn it off.

Sprint booster for throttle lag
MP flash tune for real 535 power MP can adjust your throttle but SB is adjustable on the fly

I have both SB + JB4 and although it helps the lag is still present. Both SB and JB4 just amplify the signal from pedal to make it travel less to achieve the same acceleration but the problem is that pedal response on F10 is very nonlinear (more like exponential curve), so there is still a delay once you press the pedal first few centimeters. The problem becomes very evident once you drive any other car with normal pedal response. To me this is the biggest design flaw with F10, I'm not quite sure why BMW engineers were OK with this issue during testing period.

Well it wasn't a design flaw it was engineered that way specifically. Our cars are luxury sedans not M3/M4s. And I'm sure they found that the majority of their owners would rather have smoother acceleration.

Shocked the SB didn't work..you have the new 36 way adjustable SB or the old style? Hated the part throttle lag issues even w JB4 and installed the Sprint (which i was hesitant at first) took care of that and its all but gone.

I have the SB v3 and love it. I just set it to Race1 and disconnected the controller for it. Perfect in Comfort Mode. Can be wild in Sport Mode, but very controlled.

Well, Sport mode runs higher rpm's than comfort, so the increased sensitivity of the peddle is even more pronounced. Probably due to turbos spun up already.
