Just got done putting in a few more hours. What you guys think, matte side marker housing or carbon fiber? Still got the roof to do. But I'm waiting on my carbon fiber shipment to come in. And still have side mirrors and driver side door handles to do.

Hey I'm looking around on aliexpress but how much vinyl is needed to do an entire car?? Also, in the first pic those are magnets sitting on your trunk right? Did you get those from aliexpress as well?

Did you finish the bumper? You've convinced me to try and tackle this myself. I have an M5 style bumper too and not sure how to wrap the fog light area and front opening, any tips on how you did yours? Did you cut a hole and stretch? Did you use primer to hold it down?

I decided with the same. The carbon fiber gave it a nice contrast and look.

1.52x20m (5x65ft) is good. If you're experienced. And don't mess up. I would go with 1.52x30 (5x98ft) incase you mess up a lot. Yes those on my trunk are magnets. They're amazing, works great. I got them on amazon for less than $20 for 4.

I did finish the bumper. But I'm gonna redo it. Few spots that I don't like and I'm gonna use a different technique for. The m5 style bumper is so difficult to do. Because of how deep the grill goes in and fog light area is. You have to be careful and not over stretch the wrap.

Thank you! Yes it does take a lot. Lucky for me I actually like doing it. I learn to not sweat the little bubbles or imperfection. Because once it sit out in the sun and cook. All of those will be gone.

Yes! I did both bumper in one piece. Actually I did every part in one piece. The rear bumper is way easier than the front. That's If you have an m5 rep bumper. Pain in the ass. Lol

So I'm about to tackle this and I'm confident that majority of the car can be wrapped with cold pre-stretch besides the bumpers and trunk (besides post heat on the corners and complex curves). I plan on doing the front bumper in 2 pieces as I don't want the vinyl to stretch more than the recommended 10%. For the rear bumper, did you stretch the top where the trunk meets the top of the rear bumper (U-shape area)?

The majority of the car you can wrap by cold stretching easily. The rest of the car, front bumper rear U shaped area and trunk is the hardest. It's a whole different story once the car sits out in the sun and cooks. It'll shrink the stretched area back out. So you defintely don't want to stretch too much. I tried doing the front bumper in one piece. I thought I did well on it. But when the suns cooks it. There's some parts I need to redo or redo the whole bumper. I haven't decided. Doing it in 2 pieces would be a good idea. The rear bumper I did great. But now I'm gonna cut out the piece in the U shaped area and lay down a second piece. The Trunk I defintely have to redo. That area where the license plate goes is tricky. That's pretty much the only piece I have to redo. I'm just not sure if I just want to cut it and add a second piece or try again using only one piece.

I have a spoiler so I plan on doing the trunk in 3 pieces. Seam at the edge of the trunk, seam where the crease is near the lights, and 3rd seam under the trunk release handle area (I don't feel comfortable mounting the spoiler to vinyl). The rear bumper u-shaped area I might attempt with the one piece and if it fails, do it with 2.

I also have a lot of rock chips on my front bumper, so I'm planning on filling it and sanding them smooth so the vinyl has a nice finish in the front.

If everything goes smooth, this vinyl wrap should cost me less than $200. Which would have been cheaper than repainting my front bumper.

No problem! Glad I can help. I have a spoiler on my trunk also. I 3m heavy duty double sided taped it. No problem at all. It sticks! Don't worry about the rock chips on your front bumper. I have plenty of rock chips myself. None of them showed up or barely any. For the most part you should be able to do it with a cold stretch no problem. Door handles sucks ass. Let me know if you need pointers on doing the hood. I used three different methods. On the third one I came up with myself. And it was the best out of 3. I'm gonna redo my trunk and front bumper within the next few days.

Here's this tape you can get called wrap cut tape. Get the thinnest one they have. You can do certain areas in two pieces much easier. I think that's what I'm gonna go with for the front bumper and trunk when I wrap it again here soon. And I'm gonna take the front bumper off once I'm finished with the the frontal area. So it'll be easier for me to get around and tuck the headlights area in.

Soooooo after several attempts at trying to do the front m5 rep bumper and trunk in one piece. I failed. It's dam near impossible. I ended up doing the trunk in 3 pieces just because of the curves and lines of the trunk. As for the front bumper, I ended up doing all the inlays first and the area around the headlight because of how much it dipped in. Then laid wrap cut tape on the edges and then wrapped the whole bumper. Those inlays are a pain in the ass. Still got one more door handle to do and the roof and then I'll be completely done. Will post up pics soon!
