Color options
Hey guys,
Picking up an F10 later this week but I have two options. They are both CPO with ~30k miles. Options are identical with Msport, Prem1,2, and cold weather, Sport Transmission (strangely no convenience or CA). Here's the hard part: colors. I'd like to hear an owners perspective/general opinion. Thanks!! Option one: Carbon black on oyster black leather Option two: Alpine white on Black. I've always been a fan of black cars and never considered a white car. Last edited by Rajg7; 11-11-2013 at 03:22 PM.. Reason: PICS added |

Carbon Black
I have never owned one, but I have seen it before quite a few times. Its actually a very bluish color in the sun (in case you haven't seen it in the sun). I would go with Carbon Black without a moments hesitation. |

Alpine white all the way. Believe me, alpine white is much more practical exterior color and black is much more practical interior color. Dark color exterior is extremely hard to keep clean, free from swirl marks, etc. also oyster interior is virtually impossible to keep clean. The black interior is very practical and will look good year after year, where the oyster requires constant cleaning. My good friend had oyster and was constantly trying to get stains for his jeans out of the oyster seats.

I've had a number of black on black cars over the years. I bought a carbon black F10 with oyster interior and I'm loving it. Blue some days. Black others. Really depends on the type of light. I like it. The oyster nappa inside is glorious.
Go for the CBM!

I just had the same choice and picked Alpine White/Black Dakota/M Sport. Aside from the practical considerations, I think Alpine White looks fantastic upon this car and gives it a sporty look. I can't wait for mine to get delivered.

They're both great colours. I would go with the Alpine White just because of the light interior on the CB car (in my experience lighter interiors need more maintenance). Unless of course you can do something with the interior....

We've had several white cars over the years. White does not show dust, but when water hits dust it turns to dirt and that really shows on white. White also shows everything down low that is thrown up by wheels. I don't know if I would choose white in Michigan in the winter. For So Cal it works very well.

white looks great, but something about carbon black just does it for me. That color is fantastic, its right up there with Jerez Black for me.

White is lovely if kept clean, guy at the office has a 2013 m sport. On the other hand black is also hard to keep clean. Both look great when clean. I have had black interior and now going to oyster on my new one...
In answer to your question, I would have either, but went for Space Grey again!! |

Thank you everyone! I've decided to go with Carbon Black, as I love the unique hint of blue it contains when light hits it. Also, it'll be worthwhile to keep clean, even though it'll be a pain in the arse. Now time to negotiate...Muahhaa. Btw do you guys believe this is a good deal?

Great choice. Love the Carbon Black. So far keep it clean has not been too difficult for me. This first winter will be the true test.

My (biased) vote for the Alpine White....
Although really depends on your needs. If you have kids, my fear would be a lighter colored interior would be easier to dirty/mark. |
