N63 Injector Issue Ever Fixed for sure ?

Hey guys I've had all my injectors replaced as well as the spark plugs.
Worked good, ran amazing for a good 1-2 months (2k miles), but now Im starting to feel it shaking at idle and when starting it up, same symptoms I was having before.

I love my car, but my warranty is up this coming April 2015 and I have quite a bit to think about.

But anyways my question is, has anyone gotten them fixed/replaced and driven their cars hard for many miles afterwards and no problems again ?

I had the same issue with my 2011 F10 550i, and got all my injectors and spark plugs replaced 18 months ago (@ 23K miles) under warranty. I've now got 34K miles on the odo, and still occasionally notice a slight hiccup / rough idle when the car is idling (and in Drive) at a stoplight. Interestingly enough, however, I never notice any idling issues when the engine's in Park and not under load from the drivetrain.

Ever since I had my injectors and plugs replaced, I've made it a point to put a fuel additive / injector cleaner (like Chevron's Techron Fuel System Cleaner) into my tank every couple of months, which seems to keep things copacetic.

Insofar as your inquiry about driving the 550i "hard" after the warranty work, I recently had both the Dinan Stage 3 Performance Software Upgrade and Dinan Performance Exhaust systems installed on my ride (the combination of which bumps stock hp & torque up to 500 & 581 respectively) and have been having a blast with all the newfound power and acceleration!

From what I've read and heard from multiple sources, our N63's are notoriously prone to have a rough idle; a problem which allegedly was corrected with the next generation N63TU motor...

Hope this helps.

I've always accepted this car will be a little rough at idle just b/c of what's under the hood. But ever since I had my injectors fixed earlier this past Spring I've had zero issues with the same symptoms. I'm used to big V8 trucks though before this so I don't really notice at all.
But like with anything on your car take it in and shoot a video or something if it's intermittent. Get it fixed while it's free! If I have a knob rattle on my dash or I think the cupholders are too loud I take it in lol. It needs to be perfect.

yea maybe Im just super paranoid.
its not as bad as it was the first time, but basically any kind of shake I get all paranoid and annoyed.
I have a 3rd party warranty so that should be ok but I never rely 100% on them for some reason.

Also I just noticed you have a BMS Stage 1. I've heard people here and other forums talk about how it changes the smoothness of the car with everyday driving, so I'm sure that's part of it too.
I know how you feel. I'm extremely sensitive to even tiny or minute changes in my car if/when they happen!

Yeah our 2011 550i + a BMS tune = rough idle

My card was literally just out of warranty and needed the injectors replaced but BMW NA came through and paid for most of it. I ended up paying around $600 which is a great deal and I have a 2-year, unlimited mile warranty on the work done, so if my injectors blow again, free replacement!

I still haven't put my BMS tune back in. Not sure if I will or not since I want to upgrade to a 2014 550i or at least a 2013 so I have a combox.
