Just purchased a 2011 CPO BMW 550XI (coming from a 2009 E60 550i)
Soooooo after 3-4 months of trying to find the perfect upgrade and spamming every BMW dealership in North America about any M-Sport 550I or 550XI that I found I finally found one in Riverside California and had it shipped here to Atlanta. I actually debated for quite a while about getting something else like a Telsa 60w S, Audi S7, 2013 M5 and even a 650i GC but came right back to the 550...
My 2009 E60 550i was actually a very fun and great car but not many options for increasing the HP and I am a feature creature and it just wasn't cutting the cheese anymore (even when I ate Krystals! ). My boys and wife did not care for it very much compared to the Cadillac CTS as it felt more sporty than comfortable and we pretty much felt every bump on the road. So I sold it... and bought a CPO 2011 550XI with 28k miles and fully loaded, yeah even with the 4 zone climate control and Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection. I have been driving it for 2 weeks now and have been really enjoying the upgrade. The Active cruise control is pretty cool, the auto hold is nice when I am in traffic and the blind spot detection is a great bonus/reminder. The biggest feature that I wanted in this car was the 4-Zone climate control and unfortunately this is a hard to find feature in a car and I am glad that I held out until I found one as it is well worth it for those who sit in the back of the car. The Night Vision with pedestrian detection is cool and I use it mainly because I live in the sticks in Atlanta (Canton) and when I leave work late most days, it helps to find the innocent dear standing on the side of the road that wait to cross when you get close . I driving to work one morning and saw a whittle bunny rabbit in the middle of street.. I didn't take a good picture but you get the idea. Now everyone likes riding in the new ride versus the Cadillac except the wife who wasn't happy that I got new ride and could not understand why I could not drive the E60 until the axle fell off but oh well.. she will get over it. I got BMW assist and BMW Connected all setup and working and plan to get it coded and do the NAV updates. I did have high hopes about the Dinan Stage 2 software upgrade but looks like most people are steering away from Dinan and to BMS mainly due to price to HP gain comparison. I'll just keep that on the list to do for later. Now I need to go put it on a track like Road Atlanta either the Porsche car club event of MVP track time and see what it will do. |

Congratulations! Looks like a nice ride! Four zone climate is rare - not even sure it's offered anymore on the latest models. I don't think it was an option on my '14, for instance.

Very nice.
The BMS Stage 1 is a great upgrade. Costs no more than $500 and you get a proven 20+ HP.
