Yeah maybe, although they don't necessarily do that all the time. For example the M3 debuted here in early 2008 as a 2008MY.

True, they did the same thing with the 1er launch in NA. But that came out in April, not July.

So, just to be clear, it comes out this summer as a 2011 model... Will the new M5 come out in late 2011 as a 2012 model? I think that may be my next car

Am interested in European Delivery of an F10 528i during the last week of October 2010Wondering whether matters at BMWUSA will be "in place" by then to effect such a delivery.

Why not? There are a few options ("top view camera" in particular) that are scheduled to be phased in after the August plant shutdown, and there's some uncertainty about when xDrive will be available, but apart from these issues, they're making the cars and selling them beginning in July.

My understanding is that Xenons and Adaptive Light Control is bundled as an option

I got all excited to replace the 550i 6sp I configured with a practical 528i 6sp and enjoy the significantly increased mileage and 500 pound weight reduction, only to realize there is no such thing as a 528i 6sp.

Ultra bummer. Now the 535i is looking more attractive. I'm going to drive a 550 and a 535 on Friday. Hoping the 550 just wows me into not regretting the loss of the 528. Can't wait to dump the POS M3.
