Frustration over parts availability

Unfortunately, I had an accident (my fault) with my 2012 550i M Sport on August 5th. The damage was bad enough that the front bumper needed to be replaced.

My complaint is the availability of replacement parts from BMW. I am unable to get the front bumper from BMW. They are telling the body shop that I have used many times before that I can not expect to get a bumper before the end of October. This is the third time that the expected delivery date has been pushed back.. Three months of waiting for a part seems excessive to me.

This has been a common occurrence with other parts for my F10 BMW. Are other owners experience similar frustration?

The is the 8th BMW I have owned (or leased) and my feeling is the ownership experience has is not as satisfying as it once was. I still think they are incredible driving cars but the reliability and parts availability is troublesome. I'm not sure what I will do when my lease is up in March.

This isn't typical of BMW but a recent part system software change caused massive delay with parts globally. There has been several articles about it and supposedly things will be back to normal in a month or so. This has cost BMW tons of money because people like myself ended up getting a new car since they couldn't fix my car in a allowable time by law.

UPDATE

I spoke to BMW NA and they said to contact them when I get my car back. I can then open a case to see about getting any lease payments returned.
