AC not cooling cabin as fast?

Hi All, just wondering if you guys are experiencing the same as me. It's been hot lately in NY and the car doesn't seem like it's cooling down the cabin efficiently. I set the Auto function at 60 and the vent knobs is also on Blue, but I find myself not satisfied with the cooling even after 20mins of driving. It works, but it takes a while to cool down and it seems I have to get on the pedal in order for the car to blow colder air. if I am parked or on a standstill, the air seems weaker and warmer compared to when I am driving...

My car is 2011 535 black on black and I don't have a garage. Is there a possibility it takes longer because my car is basking under the sun? I feel this is not normal because my 2003 Honda CRV blows colder air and seems to do a better job.

I have researched the possibility of the condensed being faulty and it seems some members had this problem but I wanted to get some feed back since that post was originally posted back in 2013.

I had the same problem with my 2013 F10 just two months ago. While the techs did not find a leak, the refrigerant was low and once it was recharged, operation of the A/C returned to normal: nice and cold.

That's nice to know and hopefully the same issue with me. I Wonder how much the dealer would charge for a recharge? My car is under CPO but I believe refrigerant isn't covered.

It is probably either a leak or a problem with the condenser.

Probably a 95% chance a leaking condensor, common problem with many new generation BMWs.

The openings in the grille are too large which lets small but fast moving stones hit the condensor which in the end creates leaking cracks in the condensor.

My old condensor was recharged with 850mg as it was completely empty, 2 months later it was only 10mg left, changed the condensor to latest revision and it's cold and nice now.

I have the same problem with my 2013 F10 now. Took it to the shop this morning and the Service advisor just called and said it may be leaking from the condenser can’t tell for sure they are still working on it. She said the system was totally empty. Waiting on the second call on the price. She did advise it’s not covered under the warranty. Contacting my insurance company now.

When I had this problem, it was a condenser failure that was replaced under warranty. My SA did tell me that if they found rock damage, it would not be covered.

I live in south east Texas and my car is cool within about a minute after being in the hot ass sun. Something not right with yours.
