Go with the 2012, the 2011 have some first year design issues such as vibration on the highway, steering pulling to one side and transmission hesitation.

The key is to get a 2011 guilt after september of 2010. After that the steering issue and other chronic problems were resolved. The tip-in issue was over the 2011-2012 model years, but was resolved with a patch that came out in 2012.

In 2012 you gained the foot swipe trunk open feature. My favorite feature is the Sport and Sport + (and Comfort) button. The 2011s did not have that button. It is basically like a fly-by tune that can be turned on at any time. I think some 2011s with a certain package can get the button. If you are more of a daily cruiser, that button may not be a big deal. You still can slap the car into DS.

I have a 04/11 build date with no issues. Solid reliable car thus far.

Not sure where you are but in Europe , 99% sure that RTTI was introduced in I think September 2011. (Real time traffic info).
March 2011, the full black panel instrument cluster was an option .
I think again September 2011, the full colour HUD was introduced.

All those dates are from memory so best check those out to be 100% sure.

A good search through this forum is a good idea, go back to the older posts.

Thanks for all the reply's. Based on the comments it appears that the " safer/better" year is the 2012. I then don't have to worry about build month.

Do you have the DHP package? The 2011 packages were different than the latter years. I don't believe the Sport+ Button was a standard feature for M-Sport cars, right?

Also, does your Sport+ button work the same as the later model F10s with the button?
