Got the module back last Friday and was out in SEMA show all week, so I still have to arrange time to get it tested.

Well, unfortunately I don't have anything to share anymore since the test was on N63tu, not N63.
And currently I am not going to do anymore dyno on the N63tu since it only shows no gain on the dyno.
And the place where I went for a dyno haven't gave me a print out of the run, after asking them every week for 3 weeks. I just gave up.
I will look for another dyno place for future run.

that sucks, how is seat dyno feel to you? is it 30% gains? is it like throwing on a supercharger more or less?
thx man

It felt like 10% gain on butt dyno. The main thing that I felt is less turbo lag.

If anyone wants to see what RaceChip does on the 28i (N20 engine) check out my open threads. I did it all wrong but still shows solid info. I also have 1/4 mile times against other X3 28i and X3 35i, stock/tuned cars.

Also, it is known just like any other tune that on 91 the increase of setting is going to be limited due to octane. I run 93 so I am lucky.

Anyone looking to purchase RaceChip, I know of plenty of users on the N63 and N63Tu platform across other forums that live in 93 octane city and love it. Over 15k miles on these daily driver cars.

I have for the past 3 weeks, put my Ecu Flash back to stock for testing purpose of my upgraded spark plugs w/ race chip and runs feels even butter smoother (not to say it didn't before).

I have heard that its use is great. It improves the performance of the vehicle and improve economy by reducing the richness of the time and increasing ignition timings so theoretically if you drove like a lead foot before the tune you will still use fuel after the tune being a lead foot.

Hey guys, I'm the owner of a 2012 M5. Just bought and installed the racechip ultimate and Throttle response unit.

The throttle response unit is a big difference to stock, extremely delicate now, pretty good but can be annoying.

I installed the ultimate racechip professionally and I didn't feel any noticeable differences. I tested it with an identical m5 (But stock) and there was absolutely no power difference. I spoke to the support and addressed my concerns and they seem to think it's either a. A problem with the installation or B. A fault with the device. I checked with the installer and he is adamant that he did everything correctly. So I contacted them back and they told me to change the settings on the device. To do this you have to open the device with an Alan key the you will see 2 dials. S1 and S2. I have now changed the settings to S1 = 1 and S2 = 3. Which is totally different to what was originally instructed. After doing this, I did feel a small power difference however the best rest will be on the road with that same m5 that we tested it previously with. Next week. Can anyone else advise of the settings they are using?

I'll pop mine on a Dyno this week and see the results. I'll check 3 runs. Stock, settings 1 and settings 2.

Im running on E, 91 octane on top-tier gas on a 535i 2013. No other mods besides a M5 muffler with resonator delete and a KN performance air filter.

About to pull the trigger on the race chip one for my 2016 320i. It seems like for the price you can't beat it. Has anyone had any problems with race chip in the past?

Cheers

so what was the issue with racechip and n63tu ? have they resolved the issue?

To tell you the truth, there was no concrete answer.
So far I have sold quite a few of them with no issues and customers loved it.
Only a couple guys claimed that they didn't feel any gain.
So far the conclusion, if the engine likes BMS, then it won't like the RC. But if the engine like the RC, then it won't like the BMS.

I was told by RaceChip that they use MAP and not MAF?? or am i misreading your post

The package was nicely done but the instructions were lacking. I did receive an email with pictures before the package arrived detailing the spot of the MAP sensor.
As I opened the package I noticed there were two sensor attachment spots on the harness although there is no mention where the second attachment would go. I went ahead and started fiddling around as is my usual. It helped alot having the BMS stage 1 already installed since I thought to myself it has to be one of the other 3 spots, clearly it was not the solenoid attachment so I had only 2 other spots to check. It turned out to be the MAF sensor which is logical. In all honestly I did not contact them about this so I can not blame them other than not including this information in the package.

Once I realized what to do, the installation is literally 10 mins including removing BMS stage 1 that was already installed.

On to my observations:
1. The idling of the car on first ignition no longer goes above 1K as it used to with the BMS when you first start from cold
2. The throttle response is AMAZING! This is one thing I had issues with going with the BMS as there was no lack of power once you hit the pedal but when going off from 0 there is always that little bit of hesitation and this is GONE now
3. The power appears to have also increased along with the responsiveness and this is most notable when going in Normal mode. I almost never stay in normal but now I can almost say that normal mode maybe my default.
4. Torque is definitely up, I can tell since now I see the DCT flashing more often than I used to in the past. I haven't pushed the pedal to the metal yet.
5. Overall I am thrilled with this. I was very skeptical seeing how there are only 2 sensors on the harness and I am pleased to say that it is for sure non inferior to the stage 1 but I haven't had time to toy with it yet to say for sure if it is superior. One thing I can say for sure is responsiveness is DEFINITELY superior and is to say the least STRIKING.

I will write a bit more once I have time to test the limits of this tune later in the week and towards the weekend!

Getting a RaceChip Ultimate for $594 from 1 of the authorized seller in the US =)
The difference with RC Ultimate is that, its pretty much a JB4 Stage2 but more stable and doesn't tap into power/ground or canbus. It's easier to install/remove and produces the power from start also without requiring any other mods on the car.

Is this from a 550i viewpoint?
