Would love to see some dyno numbers, also disappointing to see this chip will not do anything about the down pipe CEL as the BMS will. That will be an issue getting the car through emissions.

Have you had both the stage 1 and 2 BMS tunes?

Does the RaceChip tune have the same surging power delivery of the BMS?

yes, I had stage 1 and then upgraded to stage 2.

It's difficult to really gauge how they behave differently, but with both tunes, you do notice the power past 3K rpms. IMO, the power on both was not wow for me to justify keeping the tunes.

I've had RaceChip for almost 10 days now and tried different setting and I think it's comparable to Stage 2. The only thing I like RaceChip more is the ease of install and tuning the setting. The product is quality for sure but at the end of the day, we are looking for performance not looks.

Great feedback. I really appreciate the honesty. As a N55 owner, I am desperate for true reliable power. I am still apprehensive with the BMS tune with the battery drain issue that was brought up before. My F10 is often a garage queen with weekend use.

If the RaceChip is comparable to the BMS Stage 2, that is good news. I have always hated the need to tap into factory wires if going the route of the Stage 2. If the RaceChip can get it done with a clean non-invasive package, I am in. I wonder if RaceChip will ever have updates or improvements via software updates.

feeling something and having legit numbers are 2 different things, we all know that many Dinan users " felt something" but when it came down to 1/4 they put stock numbers. we need some 1/4 mile figures.

I ended up getting the Ultimate RaceChip and it does have a usb plug in for software updates. I do like the ease of use/installation much better the JB4 since you don't need to tap into any wire. The module fit perfectly snug right between the master cylinder and the side wall.

I wish I had hard numbers to give all the forum members but I'm not into spending extra money to find a place to dyno my car if in the first place I can't feel a big difference in performance. I do question their numbers since they claim 90+ hp which in my mind should definitely be noticeable...

At this point I'm skeptical of alllll tunes out there, they all throw numbers without real results. Maybe it's time for me to make more money and step up to a 550.

it's funny how we all want more power than what the stock car comes with. I'll take the 400hp your car comes with any day over what I got. I guess the lesson I've been learning is no matter how much power you have, you always want more as soon as you get used to what you have...

Even if you don't do a full dyno, apps like dynolicious can be used on your phone to compare before and after

Some people (including me) have never been to a track so 60' times will be all over the place. If I tune my car and try the 1/4 mile, then I might only do upper 12 seconds because I don't have experience launching etc.. An experienced driver could easily knock at least .5 seconds of my time. Do you pay more attention to trap speed as a better indicator?
I guess I'm just curious how one can tell if the person doing the 1/4 mile is a good or bad driver? Maybe it was a humid day and the car was running shity. Unless the same driver tested the car before and after the upgrade on the same day, same humidity, altitude etc.

you will obviously see higher trap speeds after a tune vs a stock.

Hey buddy. Any updates? What was your opinion on the power delivery? I have heard the BMS would come on like a surge after 3k rpm. Even if the tune gives a true 30hp, that would be well worth it.

so far I'd say they behave the same in terms of performance. I also noticed that power surge does kick in after around 3K rpm's.

Bottom line, I ended up returning it since I was looking for something that had better performance than JB4 stage 2. What I can tell you is that it's a very clean/solid manufactured product. It was very easy and I did not have to tap into any wires. What I should have done is spend the extra money to get it dyno'ed. The module itself has many setting and it could have been playing around with the various setting to find the perfect fit for my car. They also recommend 93 octane gas which I did not have access to.

Thanks for the update. Sorry it did not work out for you.

For someone that has not bought any tunes yet, what you you recommend to buy to gain some power for our F10 N55 cars?

Btw, respect to you for buying and trying the tune

your best bet is trying out the JB4 Stage 1. You can buy it from bavauto.com and if you're not happy, you can return it without any cost to you.

I did like the RaceChip as well and they are comprable to JB4 Stage 2 and it was a slam dunk to install, the only thing is they are a bit pricer than the JB4 and do have a 20% restocking fee if you do return the product.

Paul at Racechip did also mention they have a loaner program which I was not aware of, reach out to them and maybe you can try before you buy and see how it works out for you.

I have the ULTIMATE (highest version) for sale. New and never installed, full warranty. I ordered two, one for me and one as a X-Mas gift for my brother. I just found out he traded in his BMW for a Porsche. My restocking fee would be 20% to send it back. So please don't send me any crazy offers. Price new is $769. I'll do $700 shipped. They will change the harness out for me. So it does not matter which one you need.

Please PM me if you are interested.

BTW, this thing works extremely well and makes monster power starting at about 2,700 RPM that just keeps going. Traction control is working overtime now. Tel support from Racechip is outstanding.

Hi everyone. I have the RaceChip Ultimate installed on my M6 GC. Although anecdotal, the power surge and WOT rush is spot on. 15 minute install and 14-day refund guarantee was enough for me to test the waters. I'm happy and am keeping mine.
