Quality issues with Niche wheels

I bouth a set of Niche Mach V, 21" for my F11, and they were very good when i got them. But just after a few month, the chrome are coming off very rapidly. Seems that the quality on the chrome is not very good. I NEVER use any strong washing products or anything with acid in them. I only use meguiars NXT generation sopa, and Bilt Hamber Auto foam prewash.

Now i have to take them apart, and get them re chromed. Should not be neccessary on expensive wheels like this. I never had any issues with my iforged wheels i had for over 2 years.

And according to Niche home page, the warranty only applies for the original buyer. Glad its not the same with cars

Wow! Never seen chrome do that before...maybe bad quality? Maybe go with a different finish?

Im considering going with a more gunmetal look, since i have removed all chrome that was on the car. But nice with something that stands out also, wich these does when they are chrome. But really bad that soo expensive wheels does this.

Question

Gunmetal would look good but I don't know what it would look like with the white face?

Sorry to see, but I'm not that surprised. I had some 3-pc wheels with chrome lip on my e90 and the same happened to one of them after a year or so. So I will never have that again.
I also just saw an old Automote built e46 with some Asanti wheels and the huge chrome lips looked terrible.

I will talk to a company in Oslo to ckeck with re chroming. Otherwise i will go for powder coat of some kind. They are getting new tires anyway this winter, and i actually have to split them, because two of the wheels are leaking in the split. I tried to tighten all the bolts a bit more, but still some small leakage. So not over happy with the quality. Not for soo expensive wheels like that.

But also, would be nice if you guys have seen some cool colours or have tip for what i could do. Was actually thinking of candy red outer rings, but maybe a bit too pimp hahaha.

forget rechroming i would just do straight polish. i would have them strip the chrome down and start sanding to have a even layer of metal then polish to a brilliant finish and apply CQuartz Dlux or CQuartz UK!!! for protection towards water sitting on it

Then i have taken the wheels apart, and started the job with fixing them.

The quality from Niche is not more then TERRIBLE. How can so expensive wheels have so bad quality?????

I could peel the chrome off BY HAND!!!!

Not exactly same thickness.

I also sent Niche Wheels an email with this info. They didnt even gave me a reply. Very serious company, NOT.

I had the same problem with some Enkreuz wheels, but sold the car with them on it before I had to fix them. So I will never get wheels with chrome again.
I guess you're not gonna rechrome them.

No, rechroming is not an option. Ive been in contact with a few companies who does it, but the prices are crazy. Also i want something different for my car. So i have sent the outer and inner rings for powder coat, candy red.

And the center pieces are going to be soda blasted, not use glass or sand. And then painted with a special silke matt gun metal color.

Hopefully it will look as good as i think.

Also got new TPMS and Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

What makes me dissapointed is that Niche didnt even replied when i told them about the issues. But, the seller whom i bought them from. A guy from Nevada, also told me they were impossible to deal with. So he said i could forget any help from them. Strange with a solid comany like that??

Hopefully it will look good on the car. But there is always a risk to take. It might look like shit as well hehe.

BUT, its only paint. And can be fixed.

Got the outer rings back from powder coat today. I like it. Cant wait to get them together next week.
