Fuel supply malfunction

My F10 showed a fuel supply malfunction while driving with 1/4 gas in tank. I pulled into a gas station to get more gas and see if restarting car helps. After refueling the car refused to restart with heavy vibrations.
Finally got the car towed and now it restarts fine with no error message. I'm still at dealership.

Is it a known issue?

what is your build date? early f10's had the fuel level sender replaced in a recall campaign.

Yes, just verified and it is indeed early built.
I am still waiting to hear back from the dealer. It was pretty annoying that I had to yell at the service advisor to speak with his manager to get a loaner car as he said he didn't have anything and suggested they could drop us off at the nearest bus stop in NJ while we live in NYC.

Just called the guy again. He said it was a high pressure fuel pump failure. He said they are replacing it. Strange the high pressure fuel pump died with just 5100 miles on the car.

This was a big problem in the last version N54 engines. Haven't seen many N55 current versions with that problem.

The adviser said its a common problem.

You are right as I thought this issue was limited to N54 but then again, there is little data on N55 (just a year).

The N55 actually has been out for quite some time now. I believe it debut in 2009 on the 2010 535GT. Calender wise I think it's about 2.5 years, but don't quote me.
