Day time running lights fail

Can anyone comment on my DRL rings/ side lights that have failed only on the right side. They come on sometimes and are off most of the time with the error coming up on the dash. Has anyone else had a problem like this? Any comments and information will be much appreciated.

What is the dash error you're seeing? What is the MY of the car?

Hi it says day time running light failure on right hand side. It is a f10 520d 2011

Had malfunction driver side DRL about a year ago in my Jan 2011 build 535 discovered when error message appeared. Lights were out all the time once the error message appeared, not on sometimes and off most of the time like yours. They found that the LED lights on that side had an internal circuit malfunction after removing the bumper and switching the right side lamp module to the left. The left lamp LED units were replaced under warranty.
