Assuming you have an immediate production slot, about 4-6 weeks depending on the timing of your car being built and the boats leaving for the U.S. If you don't have an immediate production slot, then you have to wait until the 4-6 week timer starts.

Ordering 535i & potential deals
Others on this forum can give you a detailed explanation of the ordering process and typical schedule.
Here are a few points you might consider: 1. The 'Free Navigation' offer should not be viewed as a signal that BMW is facing weak demand that has forced a (GM-like) incentive to stimulate sales. Rather, it arose because of disruption to a Japanese supplier following the earthquake. Apparently, BMW cannot source the non-Nav screens at this time. Since all new orders must include the Nav option, BMW is making it free. 2. You might search this forum for an indication of the typical discount you can expect on a new order. Generally, for an informed buyer, the discount will be appreciably more than the free Nav (~$1,900) 3. Rather than arranging a May/June order for July/August production of a 2011 model year 535i, you might consider requesting a September production slot for a 2012 M/Y when they become available (June). 4. Depending upon your time constraints, if you are interested in a 'deal' you could also consider buying a 535i from dealer inventory in late summer. Dealers will want to clear inventory ahead of the arrival of the 2012 cars. Factory incentives are more likely at that time, if there is a significant overhang of 2011 vehicles. |

Birth to Delivery Time Table
For many years - but before the Japanese parts shortage issue - here in Southern California a new BMW order generally took about 8 weeks from dealer order date to arrival date at your dealer (give or take a few days) for all Teutonic-built vehicles. Subtract a week or two for BMW's built here in the U.S.
Based on our local market conditions, I would not anticipate much dealer discounting of 2011 F10's in the near future, merely because the 2012 F10's are coming soon. There may be other reasons to discount certain F10s. The typical "good" dealer discount for an F10 in our area is a couple hundred dollars over or a couple hundred dollars under the invoice price. This can best be accomplished through the dealer's fleet manager or through the dealer's internet dept. All of these issues may vary depending on your location in the U.S. |

US guys consider yourself lucky. In Canada you are forced to buy the navigation system - no discount, no exceptions. So in the case of the 535i the base price is posted at $62,300 BUT you can't build your own without the $5,400 Executive package. I'd love to hear what Consumer and Corporate Affaires would have to say about deceitful practices. If you are forced to buy the option than it is no longer an option. The base price should be advertised as $67,700.

You technically have to buy it (Exec Pckg), but practically you don't have to pay for it! That's what I did. Placed the order this week

Since F10 came out, there have been 3 different "versions" of F10.
The changes are minor. But, what people in this forum look forward are bug fixes for steering wheel, bubble tire, etc IMO |

So they credited you the full $5,400 of the Executive Package?

I've negotiated to get them to throw it in for free (almost). Their initial offer was to pay 50% of it.

If the base price was $62,300 and they advertise that (as they do on their website) you should be able to buy a base vehicle for that price (juristictional levies - taxes - excepted). If you can't buy a vehicle for that price and you are forced to upgrade (as in this case) then it is considered a typical bait and switch manouver. BMW Canada has got to change their base price to include the Exec. Pkg. and not keep the old base price. If you negotiated $2,700 off of the selling price which includes the $5,400 Exec. Pkg. then you got snookered big time! Sorry! If you wanted the Exec. Pkg. then that is a good thing. But, I would expect the $2,700 to be indipendant of what else I would negotiate off of the car. Bottom line is no matter what discount you got, your going to get a nice car that you will enjoy. But this does change the fact that BMW Canada is playing fair ball with their pricing on the web site. Bill

I don't think you've read my post correctly. I've said the dealer offered 50% and I ended up getting it almost for free. Total cost: $63k.
I am glad to have that package though. How long did your delivery take?

BTW I'm glad you like the Exec. Pkg. So do I. I'd still like to challenge BMW Canada on their deceitful tactics regarding this issue. As I mentioed earlier...you are gonna love this car.

Oh, yes, I can't wait! Thanks for sharing your delivery time. I had just started another thread on that as I can't sit in my chair! Did you pay a full price for yours? I told my dealer I had only one regret - not being able to get the rear view camera (which is packed in a stupid 3500 combo). He said he will look into it and maybe break a package apart, as it apparently can be done for a fee. I could really use this camera, so hopefully the answer will be positive. Yup, this will by my first new car, and boy.... what car!

If you talking about the Exec. Pkg. I did as part of the configuration I chose. I did get about a 6% discount overall when I ordered.
