If your car is running fine with no issues the "upgrade" is not something you want to do - just my 2¢ of wisdom of course

Oh! If it ain't broke, don't do it. At least a few others I have read in this blog & bimmerfest forum that people are having issues after the update. Screwed up all the settings, transmission acting weird, etc.

Maybe you should ask the question, if this is a absolute MUST !

Other than those who updated software due to their "low battery" warning, this is the first update I have heard about. Is there a TSB on this?

I agree. BMW updated my software last week and it messed up my phone book. I also lost the album artwork function. It's not showing up anymore. I complained and they told me they deliberately deleted this function in the software update due to "copyright issues."

Avoid the update if you are happy with your current software.

Curious to know if the artwork was on an iPod or did you have it stored on the hard drive??

So do you get the updates from somewhere and put them on a usb stick and update it on your own? I've seen yesterday somewhere in the menus that this is an option.

I have quick question. Is it possible to see what they update on your car ? For example list of fixed issues etc...

Regards,

Ilian

Yea, if you have a pretty friendly dealer (or customer advisor) he can provide you with the release notes for each update There are alternative methods, like www.bmwtis.com but they are not free.
