I'll be tuned in for your review, if they sound awesome and fix the muddy lacking bass response I'll get some too! I'm not sure if you have a bass cd that has test tones, if you do or something similar play some tracks below 48z down to like 30hz to see if the woofers pick up those frequencies. So in other words they can't promise u they will be shipped on time. I really think they wanted to see how any people would order them? with all the engineering and development that these have been through for all these years if they were even being developed that is... production should have already been completed gone thru extensive quality control and sitting on warehouse shelves waiting for orders? Seems like the first 150 orders will be the Guinea pigs...JMHO.

I'm a newbie here. I have the 2012 550i M Sport w/ Premium Sound. I was thinking about upgrading to BAVS - including the Subs (2 for $497). Problem is, I'm not a hands on person. Don't know where to begin, would you recommend a shop to do the install.

You live in Long Beach so there's gotta be plenty of stereo shops around. You'll have to look for a qualified installer in your area.

I have a shop near me in Mount Laurel, NJ I would recommend. Actually down past Berlin NJ.

But if you download the install instructions from BavAudio, the front and rear speakers take like 20 minutes. The door panels are a little harder and you have to pull the seats for the subs. so I can understand that part. Not hard if you disconnect air bags, but I would understand your apprehension.

You also might want to contact Bavaudio and Bimmertech is an excellent source for referrals. Also carry an excellent line of retrofits if you are missing an option you want.

I was like the first person to order the subs, so it could be sooner for me! lol

Probably a production and engineering thing. Even Apple and companies have estimated ship dates.

I'm pretty much like you but the install video from Bavsound is very detailed. I did the install myself. The center channel and rear deck speakers area really easy. The door speakers/tweeters while scary really wasn't that bad. This was the first time I ever pulled a door panel. While somewhat anxious during the process, the video install instructions from Bavsound was great to have.

"We are on track for our original estimate, which was end of November / early December. I received notification this morning from our manufacturer in Asia that these are headed to us via air freight and will be arriving at our warehouse on Dec. 8th. They should be shipping later that week -- can't give an exact date simply because shipping volumes / customs / etc. are crazy right now, so it's a little unpredictable, but the best estimate I have is that your order should ship around December 11th."

As Long as it is not snowing yet, these WILL go in when they arrive!

Same here... estimated delivery is around Jan 15th. I think this will give us enough time to read reviews and if the reviews are bad, then we can cancel the order without putting effort to install it. If the reviews are good, we get them.

I felt the price was very fair compared to the B and O option. I love what the mid and tweeters sound like, so I doubt I will be disappointed with the subs. I should be one of the first people to get these, so I will probably be the one writing a review.
