Would you mind sharing the offsets of your wheels?

It'll give you the same feel as the M Sport suspension in Sport and Sport+ modes, but it'll then give you the feel of a stock BMW suspension in Comfort and a softer feel (if you ever wanted it) in Comfort+.

Likewise, DHP isn't just about adjusting the damper stiffness. It has active anti-roll stabilization technology that effectively actively counters body-roll. It works, and it's very cool. My 550xi is a 4400lb car, but with DHP you can hardly feel any body roll when driving pretty spirited on back-roads. Toggle to comfort and the ride becomes complacent and absorbs bumps more readily. Toggle to Sport and suddenly you feel the road bumps more, the suspension is stiff, steering heavy, throttle responsive, etc. It's just really nice IMHO.

It's hard to find cars on the lot with DHP to test - my BMW center's owner happened to have a 550 with DHP and was kind enough to let me test his personal car. But I'd seek out testing both systems. I think the M Sport suspension is great - but DHP gives you more than one personality in the same car. For me, it was worth the $3500 since I was coming from a 335 with sport suspension and was tired of the constantly choppy ride, especially on poor city streets in the northeast here... but I still wanted a firm, fun suspension when the roads became smooth and twisty. This provided a nice way to get both. But there really is no way to describe it over the Internet - you really need to get to a dealer and drive cars with both suspensions to figure out what you like.
You don't have the M-sport suspension on the x-drive. It's not an option.

EZMAASS, I had a 2011 550i with the adaptive drive. I had the M-sport package also, but the M-sport suspension was only offered as a passive suspension in '13 and '14. The 2011 with adaptive drive handled very sloppy on curves with ARS coming from a 08 550i M-Sport so I had to put on lowering springs to get what I wanted. With the 2014 passive sport suspension, the lowering springs weren't needed to get the handling I was used to in my '08.

Awesome combo!! The mocha nappa leather is sick and the m5 rims are just the finisher.

Well done!

This color is nice ! I still think you will love the car more if you lower it.

And lastly, stating the fact that the lci is a huge improvement from actual owner is very solidifying

Thanks all. I thought about lowering it, but I'm very satisfied with the stock M-suspension. All three of types of lowering springs that I tried on my 2011 (with ACS being the best), the rebound rates for the stock suspension is much better.

Funny I was going to copy your last 550 back in 2011 (lowered w M6 wheels), but decided it seemed like too much work and ended up with an X5.

I return for 2014 (new X5 is ugly IMO) and am going to place an order on a 550 and add the new M6 wheels!

Glad the drop is not necessary. Car looks GREAT!

Vinfast, did you install the M5 grill? Do you have a pic? Does it say M5 on it? I want to order it (in lieu of the all black sport grill i currently have on order) but do not want it to mis represent as an M5. Does that badge come off?

I did install the M5 grill and did what another member did. I took the M5 sticker badge, broke the 5 off, and stuck it back to grill. Looks great.

Congrats! Love the color combo. Looks just like mine with the M5 rims but I have boring black interior and no bolsters.

Keep us in the loop if you mod it any. Is the exhaust the same as the 2011?

You said that you are going to put tints on it, don't BMW offer the sun protection glass option in the US? We get it in the UK and it gives you tints on rear windows and rear screen

I have a '12 550i and haven't thought about wheels really but that really is nice while giving it still a "stock" look.
This is my first B M and I'm in love. Not sure how I'll ever drive anything else, and I'm only 32, so still a ways to go lol. This V8 is just intoxicating. Never loved a vehicle this much.
