Steering error

Hey guys, this error has randomly been popping up recently. Right before it happens I'm usually in the process of steering my wheel and can feel a sudden block or bump in the steering, then the error will pop up. Does anyone have any idea what this is?

I think you activated the Anti-CellPhoneControl with the Highway Pics. Lol just messing with u but YO that's Fuk'ed up knowing there's a possible steering error.. I commute 80miles a day, is there any other feelings you've gotten or just that bump??

I get alittle vibration but think it's a bend in the rim, god forbid that steering Seizes up while driving.. LAWSUIT TIME

It's usually only at a standstill when rotating the wheel but the picture above happened randomly on the highway as well. It usually feels like as I'll be turning the wheel I'll all of a sudden hit a very slow point then it will resume as normal, but immediately after an error will pop up.

No matter how good the quality of responses you might still get on this from the great people here, I would still make an appointment with your car dealer or Indy.

Yeah, if it persists I'll go see an Indy. Just wanted to see if anyone has had this experience before.

I's get it checked before "steering NOT possible" shows up!! From your description it sounds like something in the steering (possibly rack) is binding. Not something to delay, IMHO.

That might be tricky since I think the non x-drive cars have electric steering.

To the OP, I would definitely have it checked since steering is not something you want to have problems with.

There's a SIB called "look ahead" that may fix that problem.

Quick update. I disconnected my battery for a couple hours and reconnected it. I haven't had a single error message since. Seemed to have been some sort of weird battery glitch.
