Topologe, I believe there are some 550i's affected also. One of the demo cars at the dealership is a 550i and it has the same issue.

Whether it's a software fix or an adjustment to the upper arm, I hope it will be resolved soon. If anything, BMW should release some information to the dearlerships so they can at least pass that info along to us. I want to know that it's being worked on. I mentioned the possible software fix to my dealership, and I just got blank stares.

I picked up my 11 F10 550i yesterday and it doen't have the "pulling to the right" yet. knock on wood. If this is a software issue, it should appear on all cars, imo. It would be more difficult to troubleshoot intermittent occurences.

I have put 100 miles so far and will reserve my review next week after I make my 1200 mile trip from Boston-DC-Boston. I drove my 07 550i Sports around 50 times on that route and should be able to give a good review when I return.

I was actually wondering the same thing. If this is a software issue, I would think all cars would be affected. Who knows...

I reached out to BMW USA yesterday and I received an email that they will call me today. If they give me any useful information, I will pass it along.

I received a call from a BMW rep regarding this issue. She had no information to provide to me and said that she will contact my dealer to see what they know. I explained that I reached out to the corporate office because my dealer doesn't know. I asked if I can talk to someone who might be able to give me an answer, and she said that BMW tech reps do not talk to the general public. I'm going in circles...and starting to get really irritated.

The only useful information I've received is from these boards. BMW is not communicating...

The dealerships seem to be pretty useless right now. I called this week to report the issue and explain what I had heard here through the message boards and they had no idea what I was talking about. They want me to come in and have a test drive with the shop manager. Not sure what they will do from there except confirm that it is pulling to the right. Keep this going and let us know if you hear anything relevant from BMW.

Thanks!

Went to dealership and talked to shop foreman today - he said it is a known issue but there is no fix yet; "BMW is working on it". He said the dealerships owner has a 550 with the same issue. They tried the alignment, didn't work. They were going to replace the control arm but were told by BMW this will not fix it. He is going to call me back when he hears from BMW - hopefully no later than Monday. Stay tuned, let me know if anyone hears anything!

I received a voicemail today from a service rep at BMW. She confirmed to me that this is a known problem and BMW is aware of it. She said that customer service and the dealerships have not been informed of a solution, but the engineers are involved and currently working on this 'high priority' issue.

Does anyone have an update on the 'software fix' that was discussed here last week?

Could this be only vehicles with Active steering, or dynamic handling? MY car doesn't pull after 2k miles.

I don't have the dynamic packaging so it can't be just those equipped.

The latest update on my side this week Monday was BMW was sending someone from Germany to the U.S. (as of last weekend) and they are "hoping to have a solution in the next week or two". Nothing more so far this week.

Ive noticed a subtle pull in my 550i as well but after 1000miles I feel less of aware of it now. Software fix? Thats interesting...I wonder what could be amiss that software would adjust the issue

Just picked up up my 535i at the Welt. It has Active steering and dynmamic handling, and it pulls to the right. In a way I'm glad I read this thread before picking it up. I would have been more upset if I thought I was the only one with the problem.

Am I right in thinking that this problem is only affecting the 535i cars? It also seems that the other thread on hesitation on pulling away is confined to the 535i as well...

Perhaps the same BMW engineer(s) worked on programming both the steering and the auto transmission for that engine??

Anyone having these issues with the diesel auto cars, especially the 520D which I am waiting for delivery in a month or so?

My 528i pulls to the right too. I'm discussing the issue with my dealer right now. Waiting to see what their response will be. Hopefully, they can admit there is a problem and won't just tell me to wait and see.

My 528i also pulls to the right, but my dealer told me it was because of the roads. the roads are inclined downwards to the right which makes the car pull that way. He went with me to test it and showed me what he was talking about. The opposite also happens when driving at certain roads where it's inclined downwards to the left, i.e. the car pulls to the left.

Anyway, I've learned to live with it.

The slant in the roads will make a car slightly pull to the right, but my car has a significant pull to the right. There is clearly something wrong with mine.

JC031662: Everything you said is exactly how I am feeling about this issue (including the bigger muscles in my left arm). Too funny. Actually, when I drive my wife's car, I find that I hug the left side of the lane because I'm so used to holding the steering wheel down a bit on the left side. Anyway, I'll follow that link you provided and file a safety complaint.

I'm having a fuel sensor issue as well, but it's not the same issue as the recall. On 2 separate occassions filling up my car, the gas pump stopped as if my gas tank was full (when it clearly wasn't). I'll squeeze the pump again...it will fill up for about 2 seconds...then stop again. This will happen even if I have only 1/4 of tank full. This also happened at 2 separate gas stations, so I doubt if I had 2 fualty pumps. I reported it to the service manager at my dealership. He told me that is common when it's really hot outside. WTF? I've been living in FL for 25 years and never had this issue before.

This is a good test for road effect. Drive on the left side and see if it pulls left slightly. Best to do on a 1-way road. Make sure no crosswind.

I haven't detected any pulling either way here.

The same software comes in different versions and changes over time.

My July 6 build does not pull to the right.

Mine was built in the first week of May - pretty much one of the first builds - more likely than not a contributing factor of this problem.
