most have a 10 year 100K emissions warranty on factory vehicles... but the stock units have to go back so if you have downpipes you might be SOL.

Realistically, I'm not sure what they could do. Large pieces hung up where you can see them in the mid-pipes, possibly can be retrieved. The rest of the cat material has been blown to the resonator/mufflers. Even removing the exhaust sections doesn't help much without making cuts before resonator or before mufflers.

Likely you won't notice performance problems, though if only one side is like this you'll get a check engine light with associated emissions codes for the affected side. You may however get rattles at certain resonances due to the pieces vibrating inside whichever portions they got hung up in. I would think over time the pieces would vibrate and crumble to the point they get blown into the mufflers.

As far as the downpipes are concerned, I would think the manufacturer of the downpipes would offer some compensation, or at least a new set of downpipes for the trouble. You haven't had them that long, what two years? No reason the cat material should have failed this early.

Maybe it is time to just knock the rest of the cat cells and make it catless.
