M Sport exhaust tip discolouration

Hi all,

Am just wondering if there is anyone's M Sport black chrome exhaust tip suffering from discolouration? Mine's turning into silver chrome on the opening of the open side of the exhaust. =(

same here ... I think the winter roads / salt contributed to that!

From where I come from, we do not have salt on the roads nor winter weather. Not sure if this is a common issue though.

My '12 exhaust tips still look brand new after 1 year ~12K miles.

I recall someone mentioning that this issue occurs frequently with '13 models, and that perhaps it is due to BMW changing the paint substance.

Mine still looks great, but I wash the tips every time I wash the car, so they don't get to dirty.

Might try to file a warranty claim and see what they have to say.

I don't really care that much ... lease is up in 7 months ... plus I have a '14 LCI 550xi M-Sport on order (delivery in October) ... so just a matter of months now

Lol, as for me here, have only had the car for about one month. The LCI has not reached our shores yet.
