This makes me crazy...
I don't even own an f10 but saw this at the service center yesterday and figured I had to share.

Mine has a m on it but not m5. I have a m sport package and its modified. The car already has m badges throughout the car. I agree, should not out a m5 badge on a non m5 car.

its like those folks that wear a fake Rolex or carry a fake designer handbag. Honestly, if they are the kind of person that can do it and NOT have it bother them, well, they are the lucky ones. Just think of the money they are saving, lol. Ever hear the saying "ignorance is bliss"? There you go.
I build houses... very expensive, architecturally correct houses for folks that don't want to live in the facade homes you find in most new subdivisions. THey cost more than twice as much to build and maintain, but if you know and appreciate the difference, the satisfaction of owning and living in one of these timeless homes is priceless. |

BTW - very big admirer of those "architecturally correct" houses. Not everyone can afford one, but everyone should at least admire and know the difference between a vinyl vent and a functioning one, a vinyl set of shutters and real wood working ones, some trim slapped on the wall or real wainscoting, etc. The only downside is that once you know (and admire) all of that detail, life becomes awfully expensive. It's definitely easy to spend yourself into an oblivion with your home.

I have an M-Sport F10 as well, but I would never dream of putting M5 badges on the car. Mine is actually de-badged, thought it looked cleaner/sleeker.

Don't make me mad just makes me laugh, understand an M badge if thats what you like but M5... deluded!
I saw a basic non-m sport 3 Series with an M3 badge on it the other day, was in stitches as I pulled up next to the guy |

That is what I am saying..my kidney grill had a m5 logo on it and I took the 5 off right away. I am even considering taking the m off all together. The m badge I have on the back does not look like a regular badge...but since it's been on there I have been feeling a little douchey.

The Real Deal...
Quote:
I'm not a professional tradesperson but I do a lot of the maintenance on several properties we own. When replacing/re-doing projects, I usually will opt for higher-end components because I've found that they require LESS maintenance than the cheaper counterparts. I have a younger brother who is a professional in the building trades and will typically steer clients to better products particularily because of the lower maintenance issues. BTW....I certainly would NOT put a M logo on a non-M car.!! |

All of you guys are assuming and you know what they say about assuming. From that picture I see a heavily modded M5. He swapped out the M5 quad mufflers for non-M mufflers from a 535. He replaced the M5 diffuser with a 535 variant. Ditched the OEM M343's in favor of M351's. Non M car owners do it all the time. Why is it so wrong if he likes the look of non-M exhaust setup and wheels better than the M???

If you have an M sport car you are perfectly entitled to have an M plate frame or the M stripes on your grille, but just don't flat out lie and say it's a true M car.
Doesn't annoy me as much as it just makes me ask, "who are you trying to fool?"

A perfection wood roof or hand split cedar roof shake needs yearly attention (cleaning, sealing, oiling) to extend it's life and keep it looking pristine... thousands of dollars annually vs doing nothing to maintain your asphalt roof for 30 years or more. Keeping an authentic wood sided house (cedar clapboards, shingles, trim, cornice detail, real working shutters) painted (not stained) and in pristine condition vs fake vinyl siding. Maintaining a mahogany exterior deck vs a trex deck. keeping an antique, reclaimed oak floor oiled and buffed (living finish) vs mopping a poly floor. "Real" authentic houses cost folks thousands of dollars to keep up, but they are in a word, special. If you care to see the type of house I am talking about, here is a recent build in Westchester NY: www.iconbuilding.com/longpondlodge Last edited by NewM3driver; 03-30-2015 at 11:42 PM.. |

This summer's project is a spectacular post and beam renovation in Watch Hill RI on one of the most stunning pieces of property imaginable, with ocean on three sides. We are teamed up with some of the most talented craftsmen and artisans you will find anywhere. Building in that environment is truly a joy. I can honestly say I love what I do for a living. |

What's next, taking a photo with a model at charity event and posting with something like: "me and my fiance having a great time" That said, I'm sure it's just some "kid" that got a bit overzealous and will realize how silly this is as he matures. If that's not the case then... yikes |
