19in to 20in wheels - Do I need alignment?

I just purchased the 20inch 312 Ferric Gray Wheels and the dealer is telling me I need to have the car realigned (at $350 front and back) because of the jump from 19 to 20. He says I will wear through tires very quickly. I was curious and called another dealer and got a different answer. Which was "I don't need it!"

What about speedometer? Will that be effected?

Any advice?

It depends on a number of factors including the width of the 19" wheels vs the 20" and the offsets. Same width and offset and you should be fine. You need to provide more information for a better answer.

I just went from 19's to 20's - but I'm getting ACS springs installed in a couple weeks - figured I'll do the alignment at that juncture...
I've done tons of wheel upgrades in the past - the speedo difference is negligible...

Just stay on the safe side, never hurts, alignments are not that expensive anyway
