Oil viscosity
Don't want to start an oil thread but looking at the manual it states BMW Longlife 04 but then says use viscosity 0w-40, 0w-30, 5w-40 or 5w-30.
What is the preferred grade in the Uk for my F10 520D? Normally they state temperature ranges for each grade with thinner oils for lower temperature but not in my handbook. |

5W-30 and LL04 (BMW Longlife 04) is what the BMW dealership use in my 530d.
BMW have just moved to Shell from Castrol in the UK, but do not get hung up on the brand. |

So do different countries get different oil caps? Lots of BMW caps have "Castrol" embossed on the them. Presumably new cars will now ship with different ones.
