Oh, man, I did a double-take when I saw that the first car you drove was a '63 Valiant - my first was a '62 with the same push-button Torque Flite trans. First 'owned' car was a '63 Ford Falcon Futura convertible with the very sporty 2-speed auto on the column. Alluding to an earlier post, the iPod/USB option in my 2011 F10 cost more than that car! First post here - enjoying the comments and insights on the F10, my first ever BMW.

Baby Blue '63 Valiant for me too. Mine was 4 door, 3 on the tree. Slant 6. Not fast at all, but as it rusted out it got lighter. That should have made it faster.

1954 Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday Hardtop, black and white two tone. I bought it in 1966 for $250 and it was still in pretty good condition. I drove it into the ground. It finally gave up the ghost in '69 or '70. It was really a pretty good car for the day.

Let's make it three Oldsmobiles in a row. Mine was a 1975 Starfire which I got in 1979. It was silver metallic, had burgundy vinyl-and-corduroy bucket seats, and a 3.8-liter (231 CID) V6 with four on the floor. (It would be 20 years before I had a car with that big an engine again.) It had an AM radio with one speaker, but had AC. And it had six instruments in the cluster -- speedo, tach (rev counter), fuel, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltmeter. The four-spoke steering wheel had metal spokes and the rim was upholstered in vinyl!

Mine had an AM radio with one speaker. After a few months, I upgraded it -- put in a cheap FM converter.

After that semester ended and I started my summer job, I put in a Pioneer digital AM/FM/Cassette player and a pair of Jensen speakers.

86 E30 323i, had 240,000kms on it when I bought it, never had any issues with it. One regret, it was an auto, got it for a steal though.

1984 Sherpa crewbus was my first vehicle when I passed in 1991?? It had curtains all round. Belonged to my girlfriends dad. The space out back certainly had it's uses!
