Sorry for the late reply. My screen protector was slightly bigger than the area that is showing when you look at the screen. So I removed the black plastic thing around the screen and then I took out the screen and applied the screen protector.

Sounds a difficult process to remove the plastic around the screen. It's a frame attached to the dashboard, and wonder how you removed it.

I used lens cleaner to clean up the lcd, but a big mistake. I wiped off the coating, and two patches are so glaring that I could not see the map anymore under sun.
