My New Ride

Some idiot crashed into me and wrote off my X5!

Just put a deposit on this...

Can't wait to pick it up!!!

Not so sure about the bonnet stickers though, thoughts? Keep them or take them off?

Stickers and centre-caps would have to go for me.

Why the centre caps?

Their M Sport wheels...

Still not to my taste, genuine or not. I'd go with the standard BMW caps personally. I'm not a fan of "M" badging everywhere unless it's an "M" car.

Each to their own, though - lovely spec in all other regards.

It's all personal preference, but for me, I'd lose the bonnet stickers, the wheels centers, and the stickers on the side sills......and if I'm brutally honest, I'm not a fan of the white rear lights, but they seem to go with the rest of the car ok (are they OEM modded lights?)

Is it actually a carbon roof or a vinyl wrap?

Nice spec car though all the same

Lights are genuine BMW, as are all other mods. The roof is a carbon wrap, put on by BMW.

Check out BMW accessories on their website, all these products are on there

Yeah will loose bonnet stickers but keep the rest, otherwise would buy a stock car!

You can always keep the stickers for a while and see if you like them. I bought a mineral white f11. Didn't the colour at first but now I love it.

Each to our own I say.

Each to their own... but not my cup of tea I'm afraid, just don't get the black wheels look on a white car. Just magnifies and emphasises the size of the wheel arch/fender to my eyes.

I prefer a very light alloy, even chrome look which sets the white off, takes the eyes away from the black holes.

As a side point, what sort of additional insurance premium do you have to pay, to add modifications like that?

I like it but I'd pass on the bonnet transfers.

Thanks for your comments, positive and negative.

It is purely down to taste and after four black BMW's I fancied a change. Plus will look great on the drive with my wife's new A Class, white with AMG Evolution pack, black wheels and panoramic sunroof.

Not sure on insurance but all options fitted on purchase so should be ok. They only ask for after market.

Yeah will keep stickers and ponder removal.

Might just get the SPORTZ MIND bit removed first and then see if the rest grows on me...

Great spec car man. Personally I love the clinical bkack and white look. Would lose the bonnet sticker add front diffuser and look into M Perf brakes, stock look tiny compared to those wheels.

Lovely car though as is mate, enjoy

Thanks

I was looking at the performance brakes and the performance exhaust system too.

I have 640d M Sport courtesy car whilst my X5 is being assessed, it's got a beautiful exhaust note so might get the 5 Series upgraded.

Cant see this on the OE website?

The stock LCI car pushes out 258 horses, how much do they charge for another 12 ?

I don't know, previous owner had it done. I couldn't find the performance pack either on the website although other mods are on there. Will see if it's on the invoices for the car when I collect.

Probably best to ring BMW, there are aftermarket plug in device's available. I had my X5 remapped to pump out 350 bhp and 700 nm of torque. Drove it for three years with no problems, until some little idiot wrote it off!

Yes I'm still bitter!!!

I'm very surprised BMW are selling a car with an engine mod not done by them, does it have a full warranty including this?

As I understand it, this car has the OEM M performance power kit for the F3x 330d and F1x 530d that gives 286hp/600Nm.

Arr if that's the case all is fine, was thinking it was an aftermarket mod.

By the way must have been quite a smash for an X5 write off? Everyone ok I hope, how was the other vehicle? I always felt very very safe in the E70.
