Colored needles in instrument cluster
Hello folks i just ordered LCI carbon/alcantara steering wheel for my 535 and i am thinking about making needles in instrument cluster(6WA) red to match with sporty look of the steering wheel. I am planning to just color the needles with red sharpie and my question is - which might sound stupid but - will it offset a weight distribution of the needle? I mean will the coloring the needle add weight to it and cause a false reading on tachometer. Also will opening the instrument cluster damage the seals and let the dust get in.
I know you can retrofit M instrument cluster which comes with red needles but i am not planning on watching 330km/h on instrument cluster when i can only reach 210km/h |

No, the sharpie would literally not register on any scale outside of super sensitive ones you find in labs. Even if you doubled the weight of the needle, it wouldn't matter. The motor is quite strong.
