Rear Subframe (Carrier) Stopper/Bolt

Anyone here tried replacing the rear subframe stopper & bolt (#2 in the attached image) without actually bringing the entire subframe down? I'm looking to replace the support (aka stopper) and bolt of just the two that support the muffler hangers. BMW instructions call for special jack tool to support the entire subframe. I'm not trying to bring it down and I'm just replacing the bolt/stopper one corner at a time. Can I just use my normal jack to support the corner with some wooden blocks? I can't see any harm coming this way but wanted to check.

That is because BMW is assuming you're removing the entire subframe, hence the support. Assuming you're only taking out one bolt and replacing it at a time, yes supporting that one corner with a jack is fine. I've replaced that exact plate cause the exhaust hanger bolt THING strips it like a mofo.
