Just wanted to find out if this is normal or I should be requesting a replacement spoiler.
Early August, I ordered BMW CF Carbon Fiber Performance Style Trunk Spoiler for my F10. I finally received it today. It came directly from Taiwan, I guess this where JBSpeed gets their products, not a surprise.
In any case, see attached pictures. The edges of the spoiler look like they are scratched. However, the surface on the edges is smooth, so, to me, it looks like a defect. Also, the spoiler came without any double sided tape. I waited over 3 weeks and my inquires about status of the shipment where answered saying that "the delay is as we do not want to ship anything less then perfect."
I just placed the spoiler on the trunk and it not attached with anything. Please tell me if you think pics show imperfections or it is supposed to that way.
I ordered the spoiler from JBSpeed as many people recommended them as they are one of the sponsors to this site and should have good products. Not sure if I would agree with this now.

Your best bet is to contact JBSpeed and let them know about the scratches. You pay for a product and should get a quality product with no scratches or imperfections. As far as the double sided tape, no biggy...as I would get some 3m tape instead. So JBSpeed should get the products first so they can QC the product before going out to the customer. Bad service on their behalf. Maybe they can chime in here?

This is how my OEM CF spoiler looks like, of course no scratches or any other defects. I sure costs more, but I really like the quality you get.

Yup! Thats quality right there remmib...U pay more but u get a quality product! But what sux too is u can order from a site sponsor here but I'm pretty sure they get them from the same place eBay does

I can't speak to the quality of the spoiler but I ordered the black dual slat kidney grills from JBSpeed on Aug 18th and they finally arrived yesterday, again, directly from Taiwan. I didn't expect the shipment to take this long and inquired several times and was told to contact my local post office as there was nothing they could do. At that time, tracking showed the package hadn't cleared customs yet. I paid $125 for these, the slats are flimsy compared to the OEM black grills and the fitment is good but not great. I only ordered from them based on feedback from this forum. Pretty disappointed with the whole experience so will not order from them again.

Broski not a big deal, get a 3m headlight restorer kit and use it to polish the edges like you would headlights. It will work I promise, I've used them on carbon fiber propellers on my 170cc 40% giant scale 3d planes. I'm sure you got it cheap so yah it's not going to have bmw performance parts quality but it's better than returning it and waiting forever to get an exchange or refund. You can get 20lb 3m tape at Home Depot.
