Can't wait to see results and hear more info from you guys...
Most important thing to me is that this is completely bolt-on with no modifications to any other parts in the exhaust system. |

They finally were able to get everything to fit perfectly and also installed my Eisenmann exhaust. They should be posting up video's and pictures asap. Now the car is on it's way to get tuned. Btw I'll be going to Abu Dhabi in September it looks Incredibly beautiful can't wait!

Splendid. What would be better is if we could hear it too and some more information on the pipes and the results so that others can plan to order them too .............

As for price dont quote me as I dont know if thats been finalized but I would say $1200 for the catless versions and $1500 for the High Flow catted ones sounds about right. Hopefully AR will chime in soon with a more complete and detailed release I just know how anxiously many of you have been waiting for these(trust me no one more than I) and I will soon have more done to my car as we look to help the N63 reach its full potential. |

Guys,
Got an update from chris@ar. The downpipes are up for sale on their website http://www.ardesign.info/store/bmw-1/f10/550i.html They have a few options to choose from, catted, catless, finish color, extra bungs. I wanna get the catless ones, but not sure if tuner codes will come up, even if I replace them with OEM's before going to the dealer. Thank You Chris for the updates...

Well my car hasn't been dyno'd and truthfully it will be hard to establish what gains were from the downpipes as we also installed the Eisenmann exhaust. I did a baseline but it was in mid February in 40* weather and with a mix of 93 octane and 100. AR's DP's though have a proven record of making good gains. As for the options well catless means they remove the primary cats that are on the stock DP's, this eliminates a huge restriction on exhaust flow and should net the biggest gain in performance. However this is also the loudest option and may affect your ability to pass smog inspection(although there are a second set of cats that may allow you to pass. The high flow cat option is exactly what it sounds like, they replace the stock restrictive cats with much higher flowing ones that will keep the engine more quite but will also net a lower gain than the catless option. As for finish color that refers to a heat coating option that can be applied in different finishes. The bungs refer to additional locations where to plug in additional sensors. I had them add two bungs so I could install a wideband sensor and an EGT sensor. Hope that helps.

I'm debating between having a resonator in my order for DP or no. I am planning to go go catless and want to have more sound in my car. However I don't want it to be too loud.
On the other hand I do not want to have resonators and then turns up to be as loud as our OEM DP's. 550i has a very quite engine.

I want to order catless and then just have a straight pipe exhaust fitted the rest of the way, eliminating all the cats and all restrictions.
However, should I get the DP's with any of the bungs? Can the bungs be closed if I dont need them right away? I do plan on tuning the car when a tune is available, will I need the bungs for that? Someone help me out so I can order these ASAP. Also, how hard was the install? Will any of my local exhaust shops be able to handle this?
