My MPerformance Exhaust Install
I can't even begin to describe how simple the whole swap was. BMW even dimples the factory pipes where you're to cut and clamp the new units in place. Very slick. Getting everything lined up was easy. The complete install took about 30 minutes.
Sounds killer, nice burble/pop on overrun decel especially when colder. Great cosmetic improvement over the cheap looking factory tips too! No drone that I've noticed at freeway speeds, and has just the right amount of cabin intrusion with the added sound. With the stereo on at a moderate volume you can't hear anything different inside. Outside it has a much improved aggressive note, actually being able to hear the turbo spool is wonderful. |

I know you've been searching around for used as so have I. Looks like you went new? Love the sound! Did you DIY? Where did you wind up purchasing from? Sorry but I have contemplating going with the same setup. Though lately I have had thoughts of adding Cyba black chrome quad tips also. Thanks for any answers you can give and great setup!

I did briefly look for used, but once I saw what people were looking to get for used setups it just didn't make much sense. Yes I did the install myself, this was child's play. Very easy to install.
I bought it from my local BMW dealer who has very aggressive pricing on BMW Accessory type parts. I'm happy with the tone and volume level of the exhaust, although I have noticed some harmonics in the cabin at low RPM when you're tipping into the throttle lightly. Around 1500RPM or so in 6/7/8 at higher speeds it can resonate the cabin a little. Its not really noticeable if you have the radio playing, but otherwise its definitely there. I wonder if a rubber weight attachment on one or both of the cans would attenuate the undesirable harmonics a little. This is a very common item to see on late model BMW's of all kinds, and there was a small one on just one of the stock muffler cans which was effectively deleted. |

Ah, no can do on the pricing there. I get very special pricing on top of everything else and it wouldn't be right to disclose it. That said if you do some looking you can likely find a deal around $1250 for the muffler kit and both tips.
The rubber vibration damper pictured on the drivers side can is mounted to a threaded boss on that can, it could be removed by not readily affixed to anything else. The kind of harmonics I'm talking about are nit picky at best. If the car is in Sport mode they aren't present at all, as it cruises around 3k or so. In Comfort is where you notice it as it likes to bury the engine behind gearing and lug it down at 1300-1500RPM. |

Sounds great!! I'm still on the fence between this and the Remus exhaust, looking for a bit more "rumble" but the price of the MPE is a plus

I haven't seen anything factory, but there are plenty of options tip wise from the aftermarket. Keep in mind the pictured tips do NOT come with the muffler kit, they cost extra.
The ///M logo is actually engraved into the tips, not etched. |
