F10-11 and its crash safety.

Hi all.

Some days ago I did come over a bad car crash, 3 cars involved.
No one died, but some was badly hurt.
One of the cars was a MB old E class, the driver walked away.
Later I was told he was able to do so, do to the pre-safe system on his MB.

Is that system so good?
Or more a gimmick?

Is it so good, that it leaves BMW in the dust? Thinking of breaks, neck pro and so one?

If you look at the Euroncap test results at euroncap.com you'll see that that F10 gets a higher score on the different tests than the current Mercedes E-class. So I wouldn't worry about that too much

The F10 was one of the best performing vehicles in the 2010 Euro NCAP crash test results

It was not one of the best. It had the best results ever. In the whole history of Euro NCAP

Totaled our 2011 528i this past Janurary and the wife and I waked away unscratched. We were so pleased with outcome we called our dealer from the crash site to order tbe replacement.
