[BMW 520i 2015]

Hello friends, my 2015 520i came with Digital display (6WB i believe its called) all of a sudden a week back the the center went blank?? the fuel & temp gauge are working fine!

took it to the dealer and they quoted me a BOMB! i have read some threads online and some suggested to replace the LCD panel (can find on ebay) i have a few questions:

1- all 6WB displays are the same? regardless of the country i buy from?
2- the display once changed will need programming? to region specific?
3- is this issue with the LCD or anything else?

any help will be appreciated.

all 6WBs will be the same regardless where you buy from. just make sure its virginized and code it to your car and region properly and you’re all set. they do sell replacement displays on aliexpress but not sure how well the quality is.

No need to program if you are replacing just the broken LCD. It’s just a LCD screen like a tiny monitor. Part is a lot cheaper than the whole unit used.

If you replace the whole unit, you have to buy the HUD-version if have HUD, and the NON HUD-version if you dont have HUD

hi, i just got my LCD from Aliexpress, wanted to check if there is anything specific i need to know to relace it? i have gathered that its fairly easy to replace the LCD and will be giving it a shot soon! just wanted to know if anyone has any tips on the fuel & temp gauges? should i keep anything n mind while put it all back together?
