Perks of running 0w-40? Owners manual says 0w-30, 5w-30 and 5-40.

Synthoil Energy is a Group IV oil. BMW only approves Group III's for LL-01, which for some reason doesn't come in the aforementioned weight. As for 0W-40 in general, better cold protection while still retaining the same high temp protection as 5W-40.
