Your car will be 1 cm higher without the M sport suspension. Furthtermore, on smaller rim sizes your car might become too comfortable and on larger rim sizes the wheel gaps will look quite big compared to the size of the rims. Just like some other forum members I have chosen for ACS suspension which lowers the car 1,5 cm more than the BMW m sport suspension. Good luck with your decision.

I ordered my 535d M Sport with AD/VDC, which means that the MS suspension is automatically de-selected.
After 15 months and 13k miles all I can say is that it's worth every penny and it's something I alter to suit road conditions on just about every drive I take.
IMO, it's the car's best feature next to the sublime dual turbo/sport auto drivetrain.

I would agree... I just got my 520d M Sport with Sports suspension deleted... (could not get VDC), and I am so glad I did, far more comfortable and less choppy by far.... but if you can get VDC, that's first prize

It's the AD bit of AD/VDC that really does the business. In 'sport' and 'sport+' modes the stabiliser bars are rigidly coupled, which results in almost flat high-speed cornering. Quite uncanny in a car of this size and something that still delivers huge levels of satisfaction.

Yes, I think so - in the US read 'dynamic' instead if 'variable' damper control in the UK and I believe ARS stands for Active Roll Stabilisation, which is actually more descriptive than the UK's term AD (Adaptive Drive). They're just two different acronyms for the same thing and it works by controlling the front and rear roll bar compliance through adjustable couplings.
Call it what you will, I can't recommend it highly enough.

I was told delete M Sport suspension and you get the SE suspension so no need for Adaptive Drive option at £2.2k! - I was going for 19" 351M wheels, will the wheels gaps look ok? - 1cm versus £2.2k I can live with. Was going to place my Order next week so any thoughts most welcomed. Thanks

Deleting the suspension could make for a harsh ride.

Hi paul, find a dealer that has a car in the showroom with 19 inches and standard suspension and see how it looks. Apart from looks, if you want to go for comfort, m suspension can be deleted. A more sporty ride and. Looks? Than you need the m suspension in my opinion. Look, drive, decide for yourself. Good luck.

This is precisely the kind of experience and feedback I was looking for, seeing that I am currently debating with my wallet on whether to add the Adaptive Drive package to my 535d Touring M Sport or leave that and just add the Dynamic Damper Control.

Any other must have that you might recommend? I don't know if you got this but, for instance, would you recommend the Tire Pressure Monitoring System?

All I can say is try before you buy; I've driven both versions and, whilst it's not cheap, the AD/VDC completely transforms the car. It's a lot of high-tech for the money and you end up with a car that glides over cobblestones in 'comfort' mode and handles high speed cornering with virtually no body roll in 'sport' mode.

For its relative low cost I would strongly recommend the tyre pressure monitoring system as it displays individual tyre pressures and temperatures in real time.
A bit more expensive, but well worth the cost are the comfort seats and the adaptive bi-xenon headlights, which turn with steering input.

Guys good to hear of all your experiences and comments but my own experience is that finding a BMW dealer with demo car that matches your spec is not easy, your lucky to find one with the right engine let alone things like AD/VC,even if you are about to spend £50k!.You have to draw the option line somewhere. All I want is press button A for comfort and if your in the mood press button B For sport. What option is that?????
