2016 5 series
New 2016 5 series according to Bild magazine, not sure I like this but then again BMW always come out 1st ugly then I come around and find them perfect, they simply age better than Audis and many other cars.

I am really tired of that 3 Series headlight stretching to the grille look.
I sincerely hope BMW keeps this horrible look to the models below the 5. |

No such luck, most 7 series spy pics show that the headlight connected to the grille. I think it will be the next BMW cooperate design theme. I guess I will be skipping the next generation of BMW because I simply does not like the unibrow look.

In theory this helps two things. Sale of CPO cars that came off the lease, as well as having current owners who already like the outgoing model make the switch to "what they already like, just a bit updated", instead taking huge risk with radical departure in design to attract new customers. Things like new design/features are always highly subjective. Photo above looks a bit bland to me personally, not ugly by any means, but that's just me. Usually it takes some time for everybody to get used to new look. |

That's another bad design theme by BMW and it looks like they are going to use it across the entire model line up too. Why make a screen that looks like it should retract but doesn't. I must say, BMW is heading in a lot of wrong direction design wise.

And it's a touch screen, not sure if I like that.

Again, that pic someone's guess at what the G30 will look like. The car has not been revealed yet.
What we know is that (for the U.S.) there will be a 4 cylinder 530i, 6 cylinder 540i, 8 cylinder 550i, 6 cylinder 540d, 550d and a plugin hybrid. All variants will have brand new engines except for the 550i which will have a modified N63tu. The G30 will be built on a brand new platform shared by the 3,4,5,6,7 series. The G30 will have a touch screen with hand gesture control but also have the traditional iDrive controller. |

Agreed - I hate the floating screen look. Looks terribly cheap to me, and I'm wondering how great it is in direct sun.

That's my morry too, I assume they have to place it closer to the driver then the current placement in the f10, so that might also be the reason for the floating design.

I had a touch screen in my last car. In a lot of ways it was faster than the iDrive system (big on screen buttons for example), in others it was clunkier e.g. scrolling through long lists. Reaching for the screen was never an issue. Overall I think a touch screen is a good thing
re the image - it's AutoBild's guess of what it looks like based on conversations. That being said its likely that it will be an evolutionary design and I agree with others that is a good thing |

2015 F10 is currently in production until...? 2016 F10 or will it be G30 begins ? or will the G30 be for the model year 2017? |

The 7 series is already discovered in this forum, picture taking probably when BMW working on marketing photos, so on track for late this year or early 2016 add a year or 1.5 year and you have the new 5 model probably followed with the M sport version a year later! |
